Ernest (4178), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 6, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light red.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with light notes of alcohol and grape/berry jelly.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Ehh...another simplistic and overpriced novelty beer, methinks. Just nothing compelling here, and overly sweet-and-boozy. Difficult to drink. Kinda sad.
Sammy (2959), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 17, 2008 Big bubbly off-white head on cloudy grapefruit coloured body. Carbonation bubbles. An interesting tartness that is overcome by maltiness. I understand the tartness comes through in fresher bottle, this one was one year bottle from Crushinator. A good bitterness, very drinkable, creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable.Thick lace left in glass. haggis03a3 (93), Piedmont, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours red with an off white head. Aroma of grain/malt, Belgian yeast, and berries. Flavor is the same plus a pleasant and subtle berry finish which is tangy and dry. This is a unique and complex fruit beer. rocbyter (586), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jul 13, 2008 Updated: Jul 14, 2008Spicy malt aroma with a little fruit mixed in. Hazy red color with some floaters and a large pinkish head. sweet malt in the beginning with a tangy finish. phiktion (11), , Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 Updated: Jul 12, 2008Has a good taste to it, I enjoyed this one, I recommend trying it out, definetely a desert beer. ucusty (803), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 7, 2008 Hazy orange pour with saaz hops and berries on the nose.
