zach8270 (1421), Henrietta, New York, USA Mar 20, 2008 (bottle - 750 ml) Reddish copper color with a very thin white head. Lots of berries in the aroma, mostly blackberries, and some sugar. Not a whole lot else. Flavor is very fruity with a lot of berries. The initial flavor is the sweet malt and bitterness of a Belgian ale followed by a nice sweetness of blueberries and blackberries with a very tart and bitter finish. A little sour at the end.
Jine (869), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2008 5.24.08 bottle. Towards the end of my birthday night. Notes are scarce but rate numbers survived on paper. lithy (219), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 30, 2008 Clear reddish color with a couple fingers of frothy off white head and nice lacing but no retention. Berry and metallic aromas. Very sweet body with mostly blueberries underneath and a spicy finish. pepsican (765), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Sep 29, 2008 Amber with a small white head. Aroma was black/blueberry and sweet malt. Similar flavor with a bit of caramel and wheat. Finishes lightly syrupy. Rynoplasty (253), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 29, 2008 Pours a light reddish color with a nice white head. Aroma is slighty fruity and malty. The taste is a cross between a strong light belgian with the slight tartness resembling some lambics. Interesting. oreogobbler (174), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 29, 2008 Strong berry aroma: strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, cherry, and simple syrup. Sweet but interesting.
Pours a clear caramel color, almost red, with a thin filmy head.
Strong sweetness in the flavor. It’s a berry fruit salad! All of which I described in the aroma. But the sweetness fades and a good wheat flavor comes through.
The palate is awesome: the sweetness doesn’t linger. though there is some syrupy-ness in the finish. Tasty indeed.
