Aroma is interesting - earthy and spicy with a strong floral honey character - really nice! Body is soft. Flavour is wonderfully sweet and complex - honey, grapes, apple and spice - with a quick, warm finish. Always great to see experiments like this work out so well. alexanderj (2279), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2008 Bottle; courtesy of kleyland, with a little bit of age on it. Pours a dirty oarange color with a thin and very short lasting head. Weird pour. Aroma of honey, apples, grape; a touch medicinal, but no to offputting. Flavor of honey and grapes mostly; only a touch sweet, not overly. Medicinal with a touch of spice. Can see how this would be hit or miss for some. To me it wasn’t a complete miss, but nothing very exciting. Interesting concept though. mcbackus (753), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

Pours a golden color with a thin white-tan head that dissipates quickly. Seems very carbonated. Aroma is grape, spice and flowers. Flavor is fresh fruit, grapes and spices with a quick finish. Well-balanced ale that is very interesting. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Intense aroma. Green sour apples, apricots, butter, and a great spice blend the hangs out on the back of my sinuses. Cloudy orange/yellow. It’s becomes a clearer yellow at the top. Carbonated thin bubbly head. Strong fruit flavor, strawberries, buttery grains, and an interesting creamy sour finish. The palate is surprisingly well balanced and smooth. robinvboyer (1442), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Aroma is sweet, and cloying already, and i havent even tasted it. Notes of raisins, and spice, with some yeast. Quite odd.......leaves a sickly sweet mouthfeel and aftertase. Way too sweet. Rastacouere (5562), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Sweet, syrupy and weirdly fruity golden ale.
I like:
Original grapey and pears tones. Original indeed.
I dislike:
Sweet from the beginning until the end. Soured honey notes. Not very effective spice blend. Not particularly appealing yeastiness. Annoying syrupy palate, cloying.
