| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2007 750 ml bottle. Good, but not that great. Has a sweet, winelike flavor. No hop taste or bitterness at all. Very smooth but a slightly thin beer. Surprisingly thin for its strength. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Kept thinking of Midas Touch - whether the two are even remotely similar - been a few years since I had the latter. Presume it’s the grapes and the note of recipe from ancient times. Though I rather enjoyed this, the subdued flavors would tend to make me think that I wouldn’t go ot of my way for this. Being here in Texas I figure that Jiahu is pronounced "YAHOO!!". Well, didn’t elicit that kind of response from me. Could detect the grape and some spice, but me being a meager peasant couldn’t elaborate on such. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2007 A 750ml bottle shared at JK’s Spring Gathering in St Paul, MN. Nice looking label. Pours a hazy orange brew with a thick white head that fades to a thin film at glass top. Fair lacing. Aroma has yeast, honey, tart grapes, and some roasted grain. Taste has more apple and white grape with roasted barley malt. Finish and palate has a tart character with mild carbonation. A 9,000 year recipe from China? I thought Egyptian Heckt was the oldest. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Updated: May 26, 2008Sample at April 2007 Brewnosers meeting. Hazy pale golden colour with a fizzy white head. Fruity aroma with some noticeable fusel alcohols. Flavour is fruity, fuselly, and a light acidity that comes across like vomit. Light bodied, fizzy mouthfeel. Maybe I missed something, but seems like an off-batch of Midas Touch. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2007 A fleeting head becomes wisps and halo above a hazy, chunky, golden/amber body. Heavy particulate looks rather nutritious. Yeast-laden aroma of bread dough with fruity apples and spices, light sweaty socks, lemon and white wine. Sugary-sweet over a base of yeast and malts, the flavor turns a bit sour as it warms. Full and fluffy with light acidity. All-in-all, a little sweet... but I would have been one to have really enjoyed this nine millenia ago.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2007 Color is a lightly foggy golden orange, thin white head. Aroma is honey, floral, grapes, plums. Taste is interesting, has plently of a alcohol sweetness to it, grapes, and sometime of a grain, light fruit to the taste also. Nice palate to it though. alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Pours a hazy orange with gold hues. The aroma is wild yeasts and citrus fruits, grapes and honey. The taste is a bit more malty but still overpowerd by honey and white grapes. Some strange spices and hawthorn fruits linger in the background. The palate is sweet and fizzy but soft and drinkable. The finish is yeasty with aftertaste of fruits and leather. Its very intresting to drink this and wonder about the past and history of ales but i wouldnt try this again.
