Strong apple nose, almost ciderish. The first impression on the palate is its smoothness . Very light carbonation that compliments the sour apple notes. Crisp finish that lingers with a cider-like taste. Overall a VERY interesting brew. Dogfish once again has impressed me taking a chance on something completely out there. Top notch. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

Aroma was mild with some fruit notes and a very mild honey note. Color was a straw yellow with a very thin white head which disappered fast. Flavor was mildly fruity with grape notes and some citrusy notes; finishing with a honey like sweetness. Seemed a little watery on the palate. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA

The aroma has sweet musty fruit (tropical with grapes) but not overly forward. It smells like a well balanced fruit brew with some crispness and well integrated fruit notes. The flavor is musty grain with a fruit infusion (tropical), but again, this is well balanced. Honey. It’s not overly sweet its fairly subtle and enjoyable. Light body in general but it gives you the impression of being somewhat heavier. I enjoyed this one. tcfishler (65), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Very hazy tan-accented yellow-orange. No real head to speak of.
Mild, sweet, broad aroma of honeyed pear.
Carbonation is quite low. Entry onto the palate is a bit lifted by a brief sensation of acidity, which then quickly transitions into a very broad, smooth palate feel, featuring light caramel and subtle fruit. No detectable bitterness. Finish is ever so slightly gripping, with a very subtle tangy note.
Despite the elaborate backstory, this is a subtle, easy-to-like brew. It has some of the sweet smooth hop-less malt character of many Belgian beers, without the idiosyncratic yeastiness. Ultimately not worth the tab, though, in my opinion. Ungstrup (15426), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2006 An unclear orange beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of spices - corinander being the strongest. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of spices - I pick up coriander. I find it lacking a bit of character - but 9000 years ago I probably would have loved it. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2006 bottle at the Fort Wayne tasting - Pours very hazy gold. It has a really sweet , fruity aroma that I enjoyed. The flavor is honey and fruit with grapes and other fruits (hawthorn, I guess) noticeable. Medium bodied and refreshing, the incredibly innovative brewers at Dogfish Head have made another very unusual beer that’s worth having. joergen (8637), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Hazy golden coloured with a white head.
Aroma of malts, fruits and caramel with notes of spices.
Flavour of fruits, caramel and spices. madsberg (5065), Søborg, Denmark

Spiced and sweet bubblegummish aroma. Flavour is quite artificial and stearinlike. Earthnotes. Lime and fruitish. Is like drinking sodapop. Light bodied. Dry mouthfeel. Is light sour in the end. Interesting.
