Pours a white head with a white grape nose and a golden body. Tastes similar with a faint hop presence and something sickly sweet that I cannot place. It is wierd, not what I expected, but I dig it. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Poured from a bottle into an imperial pint glass. Started out a hazy golden color in the glass, but as it settled it was clear. This beer was a hard one to describe, as it seemed to have a whole lot going on. Taste was sweet, almost like white grape juice and I will just leave it at that. ansermadide (524), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Sample from August 24, 2007 Beer Club Meeting. (Entering old ratings.) I love Dogfish Head’s odd releases like this. Light yellow-orange color. Light fruit aroma with a hint of yeast. Flavor is a little bitter, mostly sweet - honey, fruits... pretty enjoyable and definitely different. ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Opened a bottle that we’ve had since 2006. Love the label and quite like Tara MacPherson’s other artwork. Ok, to the beer...Fruity, grape aroma on top of a cloudy copper appearance with lots of floaties. Slight effervescence in the mouth, but it comes slowly...like it feels watery, then the fizz, then it blends back to watery. Strong honey taste and other fruity-ness. It’s ok, but not nearly as good as I had hoped. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Smell is fruity, like grapes or passion fruit. Taste is odd, not really normal, fruity and honey. The flavors do not work well together. Orange like in color with a small head. Rustyham (598), miami, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Good but boring. Well-balanced to a fault. The color is beautiful, like a translucent peach. A beer to be enjoyed while not paying attention to it, but for that I would get something cheaper. Sweet and fruity, like the Midas Touch, but not as good. lithy (1825), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Rating #500. Clear orange-blonde color with a tightly bubbled white head that settles quickly. Aroma is big honey, spicy, floral, and slightly fruity but nothing particular unless this is what hawthorn smells like. Taste is reminescent of Midas Touch in lots of ways. Very sweet honey and mead like flora, fruity, white win tastes. ROGUE (712), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2008 750ml bottle. Poured a hazy yellowish gold with a quickly dissipating head. The aroma is yeasty and a fruit smell is noticeable. Very sweet almost like a meade or a sweet wine. Lots of different tastes on the palate all at once.
An interesting beer historically and taste-wise.
