Apr 5, 2008 On draft at the DFH Alehouse in Falls Church. Dark brown, strong roasted coffee taste followed by a sweet caramelly finish. I really like the fact that it has St. John’s Wort in it for an even stronger feeling of "well-being."

Apr 4, 2008 A very smoked filled, roasted coffee aroma that I wouldn’t mind waking up to in the morning...and then there are it’s other attributes. Unfortunately, they just don’t live up to the nose. Deep brown with copper tones and a small tan head, this beers flavors of chocolate, coffee, and wood just aren’t that enjoyable. Hmm.

Apr 1, 2008 Pours dark brown color with hints of smoke, toffee, coffee, and chocolate in the smell. A sweet smoky taste with a bit of coffee/toffee too, ends smooth with a smokey aftertase of hicory and nuts.

Pours black with a short lived brownish head. Smell is coffee, roastiness, chocolate and a smell typical of "organic" beers. Taste is roasty, chocolately and coffee like with a bit of a strange, dull and abrupt finish. Perhaps from the chicory?
Another interesting beer from DFH, and drinkable, although not a favorite of mine.

Mar 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 28, 2009On tap at Tank’s Tap Room. Pours a very dark molasses like brownish black with a tan head. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, chocolate, and chewing tobacco. Very bitter finish. Decent roasted malt flavor.

Mar 22, 2008 Pours a very dark brown with minimal head and nice lacing. Interesting nose of roasted wood and coffee. Full of roasted body with a lot of espresso character. A little chocolate on the finish. The texture is thin and creamy throughout.
