Commercial Description:
Chicory Stout is a rich, dark beer made with a touch of roasted chicory, organic Mexican coffee, St. John's Wort, and licorice root. It is brewed with roast barley, crystal malt and oats and hopped just right with Glacier hops. We use fair trade Organic Mexican Coatepec beans roasted to our specifications by Notting Hill Coffee Roastery in Lewes, DE.

Very tasty brew. As GMCC2181 said, you can taste everything in this one. Oats, malt, roasted barley, coffee, and licorice, its all there. Almost closer to a Brown Ale in flavor than a Stout, but goes down smooth and complex. I really liked this one. Thanks to GMCC for sending this one my way!!

Pours a near black color with nice tan lacing and an off-white head. Roasted coffee aroma with some nuttiness and hops. Medium bodied palate with some coffee and licorice on the finish. A nice stout.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. (The head isn’t "bone white" like it says on the label.) Flavor: hints of coffee and licorice.

Dark brown, practically black wth small tan head. Roasted malt flavor and aroma of black coffee and chocolate with sharp/bitter chicory and I guess licorice. I don’t taste the oats. Medium body. Perhaps should have been labeled a porter. ;)

Dark dark brown beneath an off-white small head. Both the flavor and aroma are a little weaker than I would like from a stout, but consist of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Thin palate, finishes watery. Not Dogfish Head’s best, I prefer other stouts.

Color is dark brown/black, very little head. Smelled sweet (licorice) and a hint of coffee. Oat with a touch of hops. You can almost taste every Ingredient listed in the description. Good stout, well balanced not overdone or overwhelming
