Dec 28, 2007 Pours black with a disappearing brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt, with a touch of chocolate. It tastes like a stout. Roasty with some bitterness in the finish. Quite a bit of coffee lingers too. Decent.

Dec 28, 2007 Bottled. Dark brown colour with a medium tan head. Aroma heavy with chocolate. Flavour was more chocolate, slight sweetness and an even bitterness in the finish. Maybe a little thin/watery in the middle but still very nice.

Dec 27, 2007 The chicory asserts itself even above the sharp roasted barley aroma. It pours a clear dark brown with a slight hop lace and a durable head. The flavor blends the many ingredients to near perfection. Chicory, coffee, and licorice add harmony and depth to the roasted malt, which provides a medium body. The finish is very clean, slightly sweet with some hops in the backthroat. I’d recommend the bottles, but the draft version is even better, featuring even fresher coffee and malt flavors.

Dec 27, 2007 bottle. slightly above average tan head (quickly dissapating) into black body with light lacing. aromas of sweet chocolate, roasted malts, hops (but on the light side). flavor is lightly sweet with a light bitterness that grows after swallow. finish duration is in the mdeium range. average carbonation with a moderate mouthfeel. good stuff.

Dec 26, 2007 12oz bottled on 10/26/07. Pours cola brown with a foamy light brown head that leaves behind plentiful lace. Large amounts of coffee and roastiness in the aroma. A little bit of smokiness too. Taste is watery, a bit roasty, with a big slap of coffee coming in mid-way. Semi-weak finish. I’m a huge fan of coffee stouts but this isn’t one of the better ones I’ve had. Mouthfeel and flavor are a bit of a letdown. Decent but nothing special.

Dec 26, 2007 WOW POW OW! Triple Americano, anyone!?!?? like a big fizzy espresso!! A little thin in texture, but that wow-kapow-zang-zing-POP of some seriously strong, dark coffee!

Dec 24, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark. It’s mostly opaque until you hold it up to a light. Ruby glows around the edges. The beer allows light to pass through, barely. The tan head quickly diminishes. Coffee is pretty dominant in the aroma as well as a lot of smoked qualities. Coffee is also dominant in the flavour. Oats become evident as the brew passes the taste buds and the smoked noted begin to burst. Milky sweetness bursts instantly. The finish is very smooth and sweet. This is an enjoyable beer, but isn’t outstanding. The flavours are a bit mild in my opinion.
