Commercial Description:
Chicory Stout is a rich, dark beer made with a touch of roasted chicory, organic Mexican coffee, St. John's Wort, and licorice root. It is brewed with roast barley, crystal malt and oats and hopped just right with Glacier hops. We use fair trade Organic Mexican Coatepec beans roasted to our specifications by Notting Hill Coffee Roastery in Lewes, DE.

Clear and dark almost black with a nice thick foamy carmel color head that slowly disapated with light lacing. Nice aroma of malts, chocolate and coffee. A nice creamy, smooth, smokey taste with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, coffee and a hint of licorice that lasts on the tongue for a nice finish. A really good beer!!!!!

Bottle. Clear almost black coloured with a small beige head. A bit too sweet with notes of grain, chocolate, coffee and hops. A bit too thin bodied.

Pours a claer black with a small tanned head. Quite sweet. Grain and cereal aromas. Also some coffee and a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish. Thanks bager.

12oz Bottle- Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee and nuts, it is full of flavor, smooth with just a hint of hops.

Poured like a Pepsi, dark brown but translucent with a spitzy tan head. The head instantly bubbles away, leaving no cap or lacing. The nose offers soft coffee and bittersweet chocolate notes. The body is more of the same, with a nice roasted quality, but little else. The mouthfeel is spritzy as well. This was just meh for me.
