| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2006 750 ml bottle thanks to gputty. Cork barely popped, and there was no head and not much carbonation. The aroma was tart lactic and peach. It was evident the tartness we were about to delve into. Flavors did not disappoint. Very tart and lactic. The peach really waits for the tartness to subside before showing itself, but it’s all there. Somewhat acidic and a touch of spice on the finish. Pretty good. Aroma was a sour peach some grapes and some alcohol came through. Flavor was TART. After a couple of sips the peach flavor was detectable along with a hint of some spices. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 20, 2006 Corked and caged 750, courtesy of gputty. Pours a strange, hazy electric yellow. No head, period. nose is sour peach over what smells like a flat brut champagne. Slightly astringent. Flavor is super sour, tart. Once you get past the sour (which takes awhile) the nice peach flavor comes through. Some spiciness is detectable. Not very complex, but interesting. Finish is very dry. I don’t see me drinking this again, but I’m glad I tried it. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Bottle at DFH Gaithersburg. Pours clear, straw body with no head. Looks very flat. Big lactic aroma, some peaches, some acetic with a bit of cobwebs. Very sour, vinegar at first, but then turns to lactic. Quite dry, peaches only show up toward the end and are well incorporated. Mouthfeel is light with just the slightest hint of carbonation. Very nice Lambic, even though a bit simplistic. Wow, I just looked at the rating of this and I’m shocked. Did I drink the same beer? lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2006 Citrus-yellow beer with no head at all. Aroma is powerfull and warm lemoney. In the smell the citric acidity brings a nice freshness of citron confit and fresh peaches allong with a fine spiceyness untherneeth. The taste is very mouthfilling and the touché is quit full. Again a boost of sour stonefruits and dried lemons. In the afthertaste there is a slight mineral touch. smcd (366), USA

"We’ve heard good things about the Festina," we would say while drinking a 75cl bottle one ounce at a time at GABF. This IS (since you WILL bring it back, right?) an EXCELLENT beer. Had samples here there and everywhere again in Belgium and, while, sure, it ain’t no 3F or Cantillon, it is one heck of an attempt! Do more like these! Bring back the Festinal Lente. We’ve heard good things about it!
