Commercial Description:
A neo-lambic ale that goes through both a yeast and bacteria fermentation and is then aged on oak chips and 400 pounds of Delaware peaches. This beer is very tart and complex. It arrives cork-finished and bottled-conditioned in champagne bottles.

Bottle (Cantillon Open Brewing Day): Peaches, alcohol and fresh fruits in the nose. Sweetish peaches, pineapple juice and a tart finish. Looks like peach juice actually! Nice, but a little one dimensional.

Whitish head gone after seconds, clear gold with copper shine. Strange meaty-fruity-estery nose, like fruit and (Bock)sausages from a tin. Faint Brett? Fruitish, sourish taste with a pinch of wheat, acetic and lactic acid, metallic - but neither iron nor copper. Slightly slick refreshing & titillating MF. Nice but not blow-over. It’s a bit timid, if I dare to use that word about a Calagione beer.

Sampled at Delilah’s Vintage Ale Fest. Yikes! A whole heapin’ load of tart, puckerin’ citrus and lemon sourness going on in this lighter then pee yellow brew. Finishes with a funky yeast aftertaste. Whether it fruit beer or sour Flemish...not the beer for me.

I thought it was a sour untill clicking to rate it. There was a nice tartness, and some lemony notes. ’04 bottle at the Vintage beer fest.

Except for the light peach in the nose and taste, I thought I was drinking a sour ale. Didn’t find it complex as advertised, just a straightforward fruity sourness that appeals to that side of my beer tastes. An interesting foray into the lambic world from DFH.

Tongue-twistingly tart...my lips are still puckered from yesterday. That might be too sour! Flemish sour ale like. Big alcohol presence. Some light peach flavoring, but difficult to say how much until my tongue uncurls. I will not be repeating this one soon.

Pretty good, but not amazing. Overwhelmingly sour- causes sour face. I did go back for seconds at the EBF. The color is weird- almost dayglo orangey yellow. The flavor is lemony, citrus and the finish is distinctly peaches. Very crisp and noticeably acidic.

Bottle: Courtesy of Robert @ SLL, Thanks Robert !
A real quiet entrance leads to a seriously flat pour. A small group of bubbles clings to my glass but only for a short while, shame. Clear, gold/orange hued brew. Nose is sour, fruity with peaches, apple and a hint of citrus, light lumber notes. Body is light with a nice puckering mouthfeel thats sour, tart that you just gotta enjoy. Sour apples, a trace of wood, peach, berries and lemons on the palate, lightly earthy with some oxydative notes, musty, barnyardy. Finish is dry and fruity, puckering and very crisp. Damn shame the carbonation level was almost nil as i do believe this beer would have been a true joy. Props to DFH for even attempting this one!
