Commercial Description:
A neo-lambic ale that goes through both a yeast and bacteria fermentation and is then aged on oak chips and 400 pounds of Delaware peaches. This beer is very tart and complex. It arrives cork-finished and bottled-conditioned in champagne bottles.

Vintage bottle @ new DFH Alehouse in Gaithersburg. Hazed peach juice colored ale with a tiny dissipating white head. The nose on this was all about tart peach, oak, and hints lemon. Flavor was one in the same with a mouth puckering peachy citric tone throughout. Imagine a peach flavored sour patch kid. Light to medium bodied, very light carbonation, crisp, tart, soft oak and peach finish. Had a sample of this at a beer fest two years ago and loved it then, and clearly, I still love it now...

An odd color. It looks as if it acheived a darker, richer copper color then was diluted down to the color of a fermented cider. No head. I could easily smell this beer as it poured. A tart, slightly sour, cidery (power of suggestion from the color?) with definite ripe, peaches in heavy syrup aroma. Flavor is quite unusual as well and lacks the layers of complexity a lambic or tradtional fruit beer provide. Vinegar acidity thins the palate and is more reminiscent of a Flemish red/brown ale than a lambic. This is interesting but it needs more malt to balance that much tartness. I started drinking this with the liquid at 50degF and it became much better as it warmed to room temp and decarbonated a little. I would call this a failure but I am sure they learned a lot from it and will improve upon it.

3 year-old vintage at GABF 2005. Poured by Sam. Dark lemon body with a loose sudsy white head. Aroma of sweaty peaches, old lemons, and leather. Nicely funky flavor of lemon drops and peaches with firm, pleasing tartness. Almost totally dried out but not thin or watery. A very good, well-aged American lambic.

02 vintage sampled at GABF Hazy straw color w/ a nice white head Very tart aroma sour hints of peaches and a hidden sweetness. Super tart palate that was well coated and lingering. Very tart flavor hints of peaches and sour skittles. I liked this lambic.

Nice looking beer - cloudy and amber. Aroma of dried apricots. Very citric and acidic -- I had a hard time getting past the lemonade taste. Oh well, I should know to stay away from lambics.

(Rating #235)

Funky almost cantillon nose. Fruity brett, peaches, very sour. Light toasted malt and a bit of wheat. YUM! This would be great w. a meal.
