dagimp (108), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2009 From a bottle into a snifter. Pours with a lot of light frothy carbonation which quickly dissolves into nothing leaving no lacing. Smell is of light, carbonated grape juice with a hint of peach. Mouthfeel is very light, almost like drinking very carbonated ginger ale, but even more light. Taste is very sour, almost painfully so. Mild taste of peach and grapes, but the sourness is overpowering. I’ll give Dogfish credit for trying something new, but this should never have gotten past the brewpub. My first real disappointment from Dogfish. bwilley (20), Fullerton, California, USA Jul 27, 2009 A very light, tangy beer. Very sharp aroma and light bodied. Not much too this beer and too tart for me. Only a slight hint of peach, barely noticeable. A good attempt, but don’t think I’ll be having it again. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Jul 26, 2009 Bottle, John’s Grocery, Iowa City. Been looking for this for ages, and would have missed it but happened to be chatting with John III, asking what was new at the store, and he mentioned this. Triumph! Now to see if this was worth all the anticipation.
Yellowy hay pour with short-lived open white bubbles. Tinned peaches and wheaty sweet corn nose. Not a bad aroma, but certainly clumsy and odd. Sort of a cheerful flowery quality to all the noise. A taste, however, is where the fun begins. Chewy, salty sour bite with just a casual nod to unripe peaches, deliciously refreshing, buttery corn exhale. Flirtatiously unsubstantial, like a kiss blown by a stranger. A mysterious moorish quality, that at once makes me feel like my thirst has been quenched more completely than it has in many months, while simultaneously inspiring an urge to drink not only the rest of my glass but whatever else John’s has in stock. This is the crack of the beer world. I am going to sell my stereo for more. More. More. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2009 Surprisingly sour and tangy- this does not taste like peach, instead it feels like someone is whispering "peach" in your ear as you drink it. Fizzy and smooth, once was enough. I really just needed something from the Berliner Weisse style, and now that I’ve had it, I think I’m done. Bottle at Abraxas, Miami Beach. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2009 Bottle. Hazy, golden color. Tangy aroma, with some peaches in the background. Tangy flavor. Some peaches, and other citrus notes. Smooth and crisp. Nice to have on a hot day. Pretty simple beer, but good. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2009 Sampled on draft at the Music City Brewers Festival. Pours a very pale milky straw with decent white head. Nose does not prepare you for how tart the flavor is. Semilar to lemonade with peach notes. Tartness is a bit overwhelming. Very puckering and refreshing. ben4321 (957), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 25, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 7/25/09
Aroma: Sweet and fruity, sugary, malts, citrus, mild peach
Appearance: Clear yellow looking color, minimal white head
Flavor: Sour fruit, that’s really all you need to know
Palate: Light body, short duration, high carbonation
Overall Impression:
Too tart for me. I guess if you like that mouth pinching tartness, you may enjoy this one more then I did, if not, I’d avoid.
