| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Bottle. Light notes of grain, lemon or grapefruit, cardboard and a faint fruitiness (peach?). Head is fizzy, white, with no lacing, and quickly and fully diminishes. Color is that of cloudy pee pee. flavor starts heavily acidic and finishes moderately acidic and bitter and a bit sour. Palate is light to medium, dry/watery and has a fizzy carbonation. It finishes moderately astringent. I was waiting for more to emerge from this Berliner Weisse, but the only thing I found interesting about it was the resemblance to Sweet-Tarts in the aftertaste. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy apricot yellow into the glass with nary a head that’s gone as quick as it came in. Not much nose on this. Light and refreshing at first on the palate than the tartness comes in hard. Like sour apple and the bite is very high on the citric acid. I dont detect much peach flavor at all. To me it seems more novelty than beer. Perhaps I should try other samples of the style. I do like that sour candy/citric acid aftertaste. I dont think I could drink more than one of these at a time, so it’s a good thing I only bought it as a single. robertjm (401), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Small head which pretty much fizzles out when you pour it into the glass. Lots of bubbles and carbonation in the glass. Bright gold color. Yeasty aroma with traces of peach scent. Refreshingly sour flavor. Had this been less carbonated it wouldn’t have been as good a brew. If you’re expecting this to be a peach "fruit" beer you’re going to be sorely disappointed! This is a good representative of the Berliner Weisse style, though perhaps it could have had a little more yeast character in the profile. Palate is clean and aftertaste doesn’t linger for long at all. I hope they start bringing this to California on a regular basis! cwylie0 (4), Jupiter, Florida, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2009 I purchased a bottle at BX Beer Depot in Lake Worth, FL. The beer pours very pale yellow color, as was said before, almost champagne-like. There is a very slight haze in the beer. The aroma has a bit of green apple and also again a bit of champagne. The taste is light and slightly mild at first, but then a sourness comes in quickly and really is kind of puckering and almost lemony, characteristic of a weisse. If there is a peach taste there, it is faint. As for drinkability, it is much like eating sour candy, you aren’t really sure if you like it overall, you just want to keep drinking it to re-experience the sour zing.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2009 I return once more like a long-lost lover or weary traveler to one of my favorite craft breweries, Dogfish Head. More importantly, their Festina Peche is a yearly seasonal release which I recall having tried a couple years back or so. It was so long ago though and I was still very much the beer newbie that it may as well have never happened. Therefore I am very happy to have the opportunity to try the Festina Peche from Dogfish Head once more, this time with tasting book in hand.
She poured a cloudy straw yellow with a predominantly fluffy white cloud topping off the brew below. Lace crackles along the sides of my glass while her head fades into a thin blanket, incapable of keeping her amazingly sour, tart, and citric nose from dashing out to greet me. I offer my most gracious hospitality possible by inviting her fully into my home. Further sour and tart notes of yeast, grapefruit, green peaches, pine, and lemon rind complete our greeting. Wow. Not what I was expecting, but then, I wasn’t sure what to expect in the first place so this is rather exciting. My first quaff is uber tart and lively, practically dancing across my tastebuds while sour lemon drops create an almost immediate puckering. Though tartly acidic and citric, she has a very soft and light body which helps to heighten my senses; refreshing. Foaming easily with multiple swirls and tracing lace along her path to total consumption, warm spices make a play for attention while my mouth thirsts for more after each drying quaff. I almost feel like I have a glass of sunshine in my hands, that’s how crisp, lively, and refreshing my Festina Peche speaks to me in her very straightforward manner.
I can see how she would be a love/hate relationship with some. Her personality leaves no room for apology or wavering. You are either going to love her tart, sour, citric and spiced personality, or you aren’t. I fall into the “like it” category so once more Dogfish Head has wooed me with their off-centered ales, in this case, the Festina Peche. Brew on, Dogfish, brew on. nathan30533 (139), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Pours very smooth yellow, no real forming head. Very fruity like a wine. Not many beer charactersitics in this one. Flavorful yes, good... not so much my style. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Light yellow in color with an ok head somewhat cloudy as well. Not too much smell but slightly fruity. Sour taste, but low carbonation. The peach works but is a little different than I thought it would be.
