tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 31, 2009 This is a terrific beer. Crisp and tart without being too tart like some gueuze and also without the sticky sweetness of some sour ales. Simple, clean, and utterly refreshing. I don’t understand the low ratings...are people expecting a pale ale when they drink this or something? stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 31, 2009 Oh yum yum yum. Someday I will live at this brewery. Again a fantastic beer. Very tart totally cleanses your palate in one sip. Then follows with a nice mild peach flavor. Not exactly a sour peach, but more than a wit with peach. Almost a lambic quality in the yeast. Its different and thats a good thing. kassner (429), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2009 Bottle, cloudy lemon color. I have not had a Berliner, so can’t speak to the style very well. Tastes like salt lemonade, I didn’t get the peaches at all. Nice for sipping but I guess you have to from the region. zizzybalubba (335), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Jul 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Norfolk. First of all, the glass recommendation for this beer is just ridiculous (a bowl?, what are we, cats?). Dogfish Head recommends using a pint; I did them proud by actually using the Dogfish-shaped pint. Second, this is a pretty good beer. The description states it is fermented with peaches and to me it tastes exactly like you would expect a beer fermented with peaches to taste like. Pours a light, pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is a bit funky, if not almost skunky. The taste is light but very tasty. Great peach flavor. This is a nice change of pace from most of the summer offerings that use lemons or oranges. Crit (2398), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jul 30, 2009 Cloudy pale gold, fast fading head. Light tart nose. Puckery tart fruity palate, too dry for peach. Easy drinking and refereshing on a hot day
dagimp (105), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2009 From a bottle into a snifter. Pours with a lot of light frothy carbonation which quickly dissolves into nothing leaving no lacing. Smell is of light, carbonated grape juice with a hint of peach. Mouthfeel is very light, almost like drinking very carbonated ginger ale, but even more light. Taste is very sour, almost painfully so. Mild taste of peach and grapes, but the sourness is overpowering. I’ll give Dogfish credit for trying something new, but this should never have gotten past the brewpub. My first real disappointment from Dogfish. bwilley (20), Fullerton, California, USA Jul 27, 2009 A very light, tangy beer. Very sharp aroma and light bodied. Not much too this beer and too tart for me. Only a slight hint of peach, barely noticeable. A good attempt, but don’t think I’ll be having it again.
