Sampled at Music City Brewers Festival. I gotta start out by saying that this beer is not my style. The lactic acid with sour flavors are up front and the backbone of this brew. Very light carbonation. Tart and tangy. Reminds me sweet tarts which I’ve never liked. Grapefruit as well. Acid is huge in this beer. Cool not my style but I can appreciate it.

Bottle. Yellow-lemon, dissipating white head. Mild sweet grass, corn and fruit in the nose. Nose could have more substance. Flavor is very lemony, with almost no appreciable malt or hop character, but corn and grain do appear in the backbone, with a hint or sourness and astringency. Overall the taste could be equivocated to the bitter sweet, understated flavor of sucking on the pit of a peach. The finish is crisp and clean with a light body that makes this beer very refreshing overall. Not as much character or depth that I would expect from dogfish head, but I respect them for producing something out of character. The more I sip it the more I see it’s strengths.

(12 oz bottle) Purchased from Brewery Creek in Vancouver. Pours fairly headless with a cloudy golden body. Subtle nose of mild corn, somewhat like a pale lager - which is why it was such a shock to let the initial taste take hold. Wow... was that sour. Very lemony with little else. Very refreshing but strangely doesn’t fit the category. Okay. 5/3/5/2/10

bottled, pours clear pale yellow with medium bright white head, malt/peach notes with very faint floral hop aroma, surprising sour/citrus fruit with heavy carbonation with no hop bitters or true malt character, clean crisp and fruity flavor lasting on palate, could pass off as a cider/fruit bev instead of ale

This is a terrific beer. Crisp and tart without being too tart like some gueuze and also without the sticky sweetness of some sour ales. Simple, clean, and utterly refreshing. I don’t understand the low ratings...are people expecting a pale ale when they drink this or something?

Oh yum yum yum. Someday I will live at this brewery. Again a fantastic beer. Very tart totally cleanses your palate in one sip. Then follows with a nice mild peach flavor. Not exactly a sour peach, but more than a wit with peach. Almost a lambic quality in the yeast. Its different and thats a good thing.

Bottle, cloudy lemon color. I have not had a Berliner, so can’t speak to the style very well. Tastes like salt lemonade, I didn’t get the peaches at all. Nice for sipping but I guess you have to from the region.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Norfolk. First of all, the glass recommendation for this beer is just ridiculous (a bowl?, what are we, cats?). Dogfish Head recommends using a pint; I did them proud by actually using the Dogfish-shaped pint. Second, this is a pretty good beer. The description states it is fermented with peaches and to me it tastes exactly like you would expect a beer fermented with peaches to taste like. Pours a light, pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is a bit funky, if not almost skunky. The taste is light but very tasty. Great peach flavor. This is a nice change of pace from most of the summer offerings that use lemons or oranges.
