Light, tart and refreshing. This is the second Berliner Weisse style beer I have had and I enjoyed both. I appreciate Dogfish Head’s unique approach to brewing, though the dominate peach aroma and flavor masks anything else there may be in this beer. Pours a murky light yellow with a small white head. Aroma is filled with peaches. The flavor is tart peach — kind of like peach-flavored lemonade. Some sweetness in the background. Medium body ans slightly sticky, like lemonade.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Binny’s Willowbrook (Willowbrook, IL). Pours an interesting golden straw hazy hue, small bubbly white head that dissipates to nothing, very well carbonated. Aromas are a touch grainy, with some nice tartness and peach coming through in decent amounts. Initial is light bodied, pushing a nice lemony tartness over the palate. Lemon zest and oils mix well with the peach, which sweetens a bit but also gives the tartness a more mellow and complex feel. Finish leaves some light sourness and a touch of flaked wheat in the aftertaste, mingling with the fruit. This is nice, sessionable, and tasty.. it just isn’t that pretty and could use a little more body, even for the style. Cheers!

(Bottle) Pours a hazy yellow color with decent white head. Aroma of peach and sour citrus. Taste is quite sour as well, with some biscuit and even some plum in there. Reasonable peach notes are not overpowering considering everything else going on in here. Palate is all right, but a little disappointing for a DH product. Still an enjoyable beer!

Aroma is a subtle peach to start and then blossoms into a full on fruity nose. Very nice. A hint of floral hops as well. Poured flat with no head and barely any carbonation at all. Super pale yellow color and opaque. Taste is slightly sour and lightly bitter. Palate is thin and watery, the taste leaving a weak memory on the tongue.

Couldy pale yellow pour with a thin white head. Peachy, sour malt aroma. tangy and tart peach flavor with a crisp, citrusy finish. Interesting.

Thanks M. Pollack! Cloudy yellow/golden with very nice medium creamy head. Odd aroma of peach and citrus. Taste is light bitter peach mixed with a sweet lemonade. Fairly thick. This is good in the 90 degree heat on the porch, but I wouldn’t go back for another. I love the concept and it’s great to get so much taste out of a 4.5% beer.

(Bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/ target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Sort of impressive...Pours cloudy yellow, maybe some light orange tint. Two fingers of white head that recedes rather quickly. Aroma is sort of sour and damp basement, maybe only a vague hint of peach or citrus. Mouthfeel light, soft, refreshing. No real lacing. Tastes tangy, lightly sour and tart. Wheaty. Lightly peachy/fruity. This seems pretty damn authentic and certainly an easier drinker than the only other Berliner Weisse I’ve had (Berliner Kindl) which was kind of nasty. I enjoyed this and kudos to DFH for not producing just another fruit beer

Poured a murky light orange/yellow with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is lightly sour toffee with a slight bit of peach, though it’s faint enough to be difficult to discern if one were not looking for it. Flavor follows and is some toffee malts, a lightly sour character with notes of lemon rind, and a slight hint of peaches. I was surprised that it didn’t overwhelm me with peach flavor, but rather used it as an accent. Refreshing, and while it didn’t shock me, it will make a decent summer beer.
