12 oz. bottle courtesy of Binny’s Willowbrook (Willowbrook, IL). Pours an interesting golden straw hazy hue, small bubbly white head that dissipates to nothing, very well carbonated. Aromas are a touch grainy, with some nice tartness and peach coming through in decent amounts. Initial is light bodied, pushing a nice lemony tartness over the palate. Lemon zest and oils mix well with the peach, which sweetens a bit but also gives the tartness a more mellow and complex feel. Finish leaves some light sourness and a touch of flaked wheat in the aftertaste, mingling with the fruit. This is nice, sessionable, and tasty.. it just isn’t that pretty and could use a little more body, even for the style. Cheers!

Pours an unfiltered murky shade of orange and a tall billowing white head. The aroma and flavor pull out all the stops. The peach is only an accent to the Berliner Weisse there of. Peach can be found gently in the aroma and softly melded into the finish. Earthy suggestions of wet hay and wheat, an old barn stall, the beginnings of a blue cheese. Most obvious and upfront are the funky tart, lemony, acidic suggestion of lactic acid. It eats away the sweetness and leaves behind a brilliantly dry and tart finish.

I can’t even begin to describe how elated I am that DFH is taking sour beers mainstream. Will it have a mass consumer success… that’s to be determined; but regardless, Festina Peche was largely successful with my abnormal palate. I’m on to my second case in 3 weeks. This is a new favorite and easily the most abstract and awesome summer beer I’ve ever experienced!

Aroma is a subtle peach to start and then blossoms into a full on fruity nose. Very nice. A hint of floral hops as well. Poured flat with no head and barely any carbonation at all. Super pale yellow color and opaque. Taste is slightly sour and lightly bitter. Palate is thin and watery, the taste leaving a weak memory on the tongue.

12 oz. bottle. Hazy yellow pour producing a substatnial white head that endures tolerably well. Teh peach aroma is there, but subdued, and there is a nice sour citrusy characterthat seems more evident. Lively carbonation and a light body with a clean palate come together for a very refreshing quality. Sour and acidic with only the faintest touch of sweetness and a bit of bitterness at the finish add to the refreshing nature. This is a really nice beer for hot weather.

Pours a hazy lemonade yellow with a lot of rising bubbles and a fizzy white head that diminishes quickly to the surface. It looks a lot like a soda. The aroma is of dusty wheat with supporting notes of lightly sour citrus and faint peach. Light-bodied and super-tart, the palate features lively carbonation and a dry, sour finish. A tart blend of citrus and light peach over an effervescent, light wheat backing. It finishes fairly dry with a lingering sourness coating the tongue. This is an interesting interpretation of the style, but it’s so sweet and tart that the fruit notes overpower the subtleties of the wheat malt. It is a decent summer refresher, but considering that it’s about 20 degrees F outside, it really just leaves me craving a nice stout.

Bottled sample via radiomgb. Light gold in colour with lively carbonation. Strong citric notes dominate the aroma, with some secondary elements of stale malt, flowers, and peaches. Not too peach-like in the mouth, but there’s a fair bit of lemon and dry malt flavor. Pretty much bone dry on the palate. Refreshing, tart, and mild, and perhaps a little thin. Pretty good overall.

Taste is tart and fruity, the peaches are certainly there. Nothing too extreme or exciting, but refreshing, with a fair amount of residual sweetness. Nice.
