| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Bottle.. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished, spotty amounts of lacing, lively, fast rising carbonation, cloudy, and a pale yellow hue. The nose was sweet and peaches and not a lot at that. The flavor was sweet, sour, peaches, tart, and finishes dry. Tingly, dry mouthfeel and light in body. Too tart and sour for my liking and not one of their better beers IMMHO. Not one I want again. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2007 On tap at the Rehoboth DFH location. Pours a think milky almost mocha/vanilla looking orange. Very small bubbly off white head. Looked like a pint of yeast starter. Aroma of peach, some citrus and tart wheat. Flavor was funky, tart wheat, slightly sour peach...almost lambic qualitlies. Still really thrown off by the look of this beer...maybe it was the first pint poured on a fresh keg or something?
Bottle - Pours a cloudy golden yellow...very different from the draught version. Medium size bubbly/rocky white head that left some slight lacing. Aroma of wheat, peaches, Flavors were along the same lines as the draught version with some tart wheat, funky peaches, hints of citrus and cereal grains. This will be a nice summer time beer, although the funky/sour flavors may turn away some folks from making this a go to summer beer for the masses. TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy gold. Head disappears in the blink of an eye. Spotty foam and bubbles on the surface. Aroma is lemony and tart with grains, yeast and faint peach. Taste is very tart, Lots of lemon and yeast with the wheat coming through on the back end along with the peach notes. Subtle maltiness throughout. Body is light, bubbly, tart, acidic, dry and astringent. Make that very tart and astringent! Finishes with more lemon, tart fruits, big yeast, wheat and soft peach. To me the peach is barely detectable in my bottle. Nice beer. I can imagine this going well with the food suggestions in the description. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Pours a murky, kind of lifeless, light golden with little to no head. Looks like a glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. Lemony aroma, hints of sour candy - like sweet tarts. Flavor is reminiscent of sweet tarts as well. No real peach presence detected. Lots of sourness without any real fruit to balance it out. Some white grapes noticed in the finish. Mouthfeel
is a tad on the stinging side. I usually am a bit more lenient with Dogfish Head as I appreciate their uniqueness and experimental nature - but this one just misses the mark. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 25, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear pale golden-yellow color. Head was thin, white, and reduced rapidly to a tattered bubbly film. The aromas were very subdued consisting of sour fruit, minimal citrus, and a slight whiff of cereal grain. Very acidic on the tongue up front with a sour fleshy fruit flavor. This acidity mellowed in waves, gradually fading to a delicate lingering malty sweetness accompanied by a pleasant but fleeting mild buttery caramel aftertaste. There was also an occasional hint of dry white wine. Very good. I much prefer this to the recent DFH Red & White/Black & Blue releases. presario (2983), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2009 4-pack. Head starts larger on very pale yellow beer. As head quickly sinks the beer changes to a slightly cloudy dark yellow. Aroma starts out very strong and peachy but retreats back into the liquid with the head. Tart tasty summer beer. A nice change of pace from standard wheat beers. Not overly strong peach notes, almost have to squeeze the juice out of the aftertaste. Keeps tartness to the end. Flavour could be stronger. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2007 12oz bottle via trade with Ughamash. Thanks Jason. Pours golden yellow with a head that quickly lost its muster, and is now a meager bright white ring. Aroma is a dainty peach, with not much else. the taste is sweet, somewhat peechy, big and highly acidic. The taste comes out of nowhere from such an underwhelming nose. Certainly better than syrup mixed berliner weisses I had in Berlin. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2007 In the bottle from Inari Wines. Pours a cloudy light gold with a thick fluffy white head of awesome retention. This looks way better than many Wits. Has a mild peach aroma, but mostly a yeasty doughy scent with a splash of lemon citrus. WOW, this is very tart! Has a long acidity on the tongue. A very seltzer-like palate. So acidic, it seems to be concentrated lemons. I can see why they use the term "neo-Berliner weisse." There’s not much peach flavor to this. It tastes similar to an apricot home brew that I once made with a huge amount of fruit and very little malt. I get a faint sensation of oakiness toward the bitter end.
