Very clean with just the right balance of malt, wheat, fruit, and tartness. Would drink gallons of this stuff at one sitting if only I could. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Nose of tart sweet peaches and reminiscent of sour peach candies. Great effervescent mouth feel, taste, and finish. Wonderfully crafted one-of-a-kind beer. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Pours bright gold into a Tumbler. Micro white head quickly subsides. Mild peach and necatine aromas. Sharp, dry, sour and refreshing. Slight peach flavors but neither sweet nor over-powering. Lasting dry wheat finish. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 8, 2007 12oz bottle from Florian’s. Light yellow body, a tad hazy due to the little bit of yeast I accidentally got in it, and a half inch of off-white head. Smells like peach juice and very little else. It smells good, but rather one-dimensional. Tastes like peach initially, with kind of a sourness toward the finish that is reminiscent of apple or lemon. Light in body, and extremely drinkable. Wow, this is a good beer. unclemattie (2427), Georgia, USA

Aroma of ripe pears. There is an immediate tartness like of a crisp refreshing white wine. Clean and perfect for these killer hot days. Very light bodied and amazingly refreshing. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2009 This one had a white-yellow color, cloudy, white head disappeared fast as lightning, never to return again .Smell is a little sour but taste is also slight sour peaches, I can almost feel the fuzziness. Mouthfeel is very juicy, nice beer and the best I’ve had from DFH in a long while.

Peach and sour apple nose.
Taste shows more of the sour character. A nice change from another of my summertime favorites, Flanders Red Ale.
Crisp and refreshing in the mouth. Appears to be well carbonated, but this appears to be due to the tart character.
Pretty drinkable stuff, definitely an easy drinking quality. Must admit this is a pleasant surprise.

I have always thought DFH ended up going overboard with the whole "extreme beer" thing that they are known for, but this little brew might just signal a return to sanity. The wheat malt is VERY up front and works to create a dry/tart profile to die for. The lactic fermentation takes the sour/tart sensation a step further. VERY German and quite the tasty beer. They added the peaches in the wort so that they were fermented down and not syrupy sweet in the finished product...good call. You get a slight essence of fruit that doesn’t overpower the glory of the wheat. GO GET SOME.
