Commercial Description:
Admiral Flucky's Lager was brewed with 51% Pilsner malt and 49% Chardonnay grapes, then fermented with Champagne yeast. It is low (~15 IBU’s) on the bitterness scale, a bit sweet, with the slight acidity of a champagne.

Admiral Flucky was the first commander of the USS Dogfish (submarine) and passed away on July 2, 2007.

BBF 07. Pours a hazy very light yellowish, with peach hints, kind of a like a cloudy berliner weisse- nice fluffy dissipating white head. Aroma is lots of white wine, grapeskin, tartness- green apple acetaldehyde, grassy, and DMS- cooked capbbage and hints of corn. Lightly sweet, more chard grapes, crackery malts, tart acidity in the end, and finishes sort of crisp- and a bit vegetal i the end. Wierd beer.

Draft, multiple samples at BA Belgian Beer Fest 10/27/07. Poured hazy yellow, with a moderate sized white head. Aroma of malt, white grapes, and some yeast. White wine or champagne-like at first with white grape flavor, along with wheat, citrus, and some spice. Dry finish. Very interesting; I’d drink it again.

Vinous aroma, with hints of wit beer characters, though a little weak. No head, cloudy yellow. Heavy flavors of grapes then fading and leaving hefe flavors with some faint tartness at the end. Thick in the palate. An interesting try. Not unenjoyable but not something I’d have again. Not as nice as Allagash Victoria.

Poured a lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, light clove, bubblegum, and wheat. Taste of light honey, pils malt, lightly tart grape, and bubblegum.

On tap at the Rehoboth Pub. Pours a hazy golden with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma of banana, clove, citrus, grapes and some bready malts. Flavors of the same...this one really reminded me of a Hefe that was given the champagne treatment along with some grapes.
