Very strong raspberry aroma, with a hint of honey/vanilla, light golden cloudy, with a touch of pink, Sweet, but not as sweet as a framboise lambic, but still with strong raspberry flavors, surprisingly smooth for it’s alcohol content, but be careful, I’m a big guy and a half bottle knocked me on my ass.

picked up a bottle from Martin’s Liquors in NJ. sweet, mild raspberry aroma. cream/white head that didnt stick around. cloudy gold color. pleasant taste with less fruit than expected. little bit of a back of the throat burn. alcohol well masked - evident but not overwhelming. definitely buy again given the chance.

Very sweet. Almost too sweet. The raspberries hit you face right as the cap comes off. Also very strong. A bottle of this will put you out for the night. It’s medium bodied and a cloudy red color. It warms the throat quite a bit.

Deep amber coloured body with a tan head that fizzles away instantly. Nice aroma of raspberries along with icing sugar and malt. Medium bodied; very strong alcohol flavor with raspberries of course, lemons and a bit of hops (no suprise). After taste shows alcohol, sugars and malt. Overall the beer was too strong and left a lot to be desired. Try it if you can find it but it wasn’t the best Dogfish Head beer. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Clarendon, VA on 28-May-2006.

Pours a thin white head. Body is amber and murky. Smells of sweet raspberries and alcohol. Smells hot. Tastes of raspberries and alcohol with a canteloupe finish. Goes down hot.

750 mL bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a clear gold/red color with a one finger white head. This was a fairly normal pour for a beer that I expected ahead of time to pour a cloudy red color. The aroma was a bit of alcohol and some raspberry candy. The flavor was very similar to country wine. A sweet, syrupy raspberry with a solid, warming finish from the alcohol. You can definately tell that the alcohol is there, but it doesn’t effect the taste of the beer. I really enjoyed this as an apertif (spelling?). I’m glad I bought several bottles of this to have at later occasions.

It’s rich, and full of heat. luckily, the latter is fairly well masked. The fact that this is an ale adds to its complexity. it is first a fruit beer, then it just happens to fall into the ale category, which adds the body to it. It’s tasty, and full of rich raspberry flavor. The appearance is definitely deceiving to the untrained brewhog. "blipp" hit the rating on the head. kudos.

Bottle from 2007. Pours orange red with a thin head. The aroma is a bit boozy, it reminds me of raspberry hard candies that old ladies have. The flavor is a lot better than the aroma, with a fruity, almost jammy raspberry presence, and alcohol that warms the throat on the way down, but doesn’t really contribute much to the overall flavor. Very drinkable for its strength.
