750ml bottle. 11/29/05. Aroma is incredibly sweet and syrupy. Reminiscent of a raspberry liqueur. There’s also a grainy maltiness hiding behind the massive sugary sweetness. Pours a nearly still looking hazy copper. Flavor is very hot, alcoholic and sweet. Almost like a fruit infused malt liquor. Thick and cloying on the tongue. Finishes with surprisingly short. Even with 2 1/2 years on the bottle, it’s still amazingly alcoholic. Way off balance and completely lacking subtlety in every aspect. Thanks Alan?

750ml bottle. Bottled on 11/13/06. Poured a hazy reddish purple color. Head was fizzy, off white, and reduced quickly to nothingness. The aroma was reminiscent of pear liqueur with a whiff of raspberry. There was also a molasses note. Sweet and boozy with a definite warming alcohol effect. There was a lot of raw alcohol flavor accented by pear, pancake, raspberry, brown sugar, and a splash of maple syrup.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Nose of strong raspberries and brown sugar. Pours an amber color with a bit of an orange hue. A light foamy tan head leaves some nice rimming. Strong alcohol in the flavor. Malty smoke and musty raspberries. Almost a dirty alcohol taste. The raspberries are pretty subdued; even though the sweetness really comes through, the warming alcohol takes over the mouth.

Sample at Pints for Pets - Pours hazy orange with khaki, fizzy head. nose is perfume and alcohol, raspberry and grape, very port wine-esque. Taste is lots of bread and alcohol, biscuit with fruity overtones of grape. Reminds me of sherry, or port wine. Lots of alcohol warmth. Wow.

Holy schnikies this is no joke. Booz bomb with plenty of fruit to go around. Sticky and over ripe just on the verge of rotting. Nice old fruit masked in alchoal.

"wow this is a crazy beer"- julie wombat.. She took the weds out of my mouth. Full bodied and thick on the palate. Front end a bit tart and fruity. Alcohol present on the nose and palate, warming. We enjoyed this as a dessert beer after a meal/ tasting, put us on our asses at 18 percent.

Pours orange/red with a moderate, fine, white head. Aroma is vanilla and raspberries. Lightly tart aroma, very pleasant. Moderate mouth feel. Very tart. Strong alcohol presence. Flavor is raspberries, vanilla, alcohol, and some mildly sweet malt under it. This bottle has been aged about 1.5 years, so that may have tamed the fruit quality a bit. I’ll have to purchase a newer bottle to see.
