Sticky and over ripe just on the verge of rotting. Nice old fruit masked in alchoal. BuckeyeSammy (456), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2008 "wow this is a crazy beer"- julie wombat.. She took the weds out of my mouth. Full bodied and thick on the palate. Front end a bit tart and fruity. Alcohol present on the nose and palate, warming. We enjoyed this as a dessert beer after a meal/ tasting, put us on our asses at 18 percent. Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2008 Pours orange/red with a moderate, fine, white head. Aroma is vanilla and raspberries. Lightly tart aroma, very pleasant. Moderate mouth feel. Very tart. Strong alcohol presence. Flavor is raspberries, vanilla, alcohol, and some mildly sweet malt under it. This bottle has been aged about 1.5 years, so that may have tamed the fruit quality a bit. I’ll have to purchase a newer bottle to see. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2008 WARNING: This is a serious beer, not for the faint of heart. Very sweet and fruity, but with a punch in the jaw of alcohol. It is almost like a flavored liquer or brandy. Very serious. Don’t plan on drinking this bottle by yourself. Or with less than three very willing people in the room. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | May 20, 2008 i figured I’d go through and rate all of the dogfish styles i’ve had. this was my least favorite, the smell was just overwhelming with raspberries, the flavor was dominant of alcohol almost like drinking a liqueur. I’m not a big fan of raspberries and this beer did not do it for me. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2008 Bottle at the Pints for Pets Brewfest. Clear copper with a thin off white head. Amazing tart yet sweet raspberry aroma. Sweet and sour, yet very alcoholic, taste. Raspberry notes throughout. Calm, still mouthfeel. Nate (2564), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2008 Sampled from bottle at Pints for Pets. Vinuous, like dry sherry or port with some heavy berry character. Great fruity nose and alcohol-ester vapors. Hazy red-orange with thin off-white lacing head. Heavy vinuous body with light carbonation and a lot of alcoholic warming. It’s like drinking a sherry or port; a beer with legs. Sweet alcoholic raspberry, oak, plum, port. Tangy fruity finish with big warming after. Nice digestif beer or one for sharing around a fireplace with a good book; not a bottle that you polish off yourself! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2008 750ml bottle. Initial reaction was surprised how big this puppy is. Notes of spice, alcohol, and some caramel. A little too syrupy for my liking, and I wouldn’t buy this again. But, big and interesting which I thought was pretty righteous.
