Mar 30, 2008 4/07 tasting. Aroma is fresh raspberries and vanilla. Taste is raspberry, sour, vanilla, and alcohol. Thick bodied. Some sourness at the finish. Interesting beer. Mixes well with Nogne Imperial Stout.

Mar 29, 2008 Oh wow this beer is something special. Pours a nice red color with a small off white head. Nose is super fruity and alcohlic. Taste is fruity sweet, sugary, and has a nice alcohlic warming bite. Good beer with some taste notes I cannot put my finger on. I like it though. You definitly don’t notice the 18 percent, because It is scary how drinkable this beer is.

aroma is very sweet, and big on raspberries. I was expecting an alcohol bomb, but i guess being bottledin 2005 really allowed this to mellow. Flavour is loaded with raspberries, and it quite sweet. Small notes of caramel, and malt. The alcohol is really quite well hidden, its there, but not even close to as strong as you would expect an 18.5% beer. very good, i really enjoyed this!

Mar 22, 2008 I knew it would be interesting. Flavor is intense and highly alcoholic. Has a whiskey flavor to it that I did not enjoy. It probably would have been a lot better at around 10% alcohol instead of 18%. Hard to drink, but it tasted better as it warmed and as I got used to it.

Mar 14, 2008 from a bottle. Pours a reddish copper color. Aromas of raspberries and caramel malt. First drink reminds me of a champagne in terms of mouthfeel and taste. A lot of raspberries and alcohol in the taste.

Mar 13, 2008 Hazy yellow orange. Served in a flute. Aroma strong of raspberries and alcohol. Taste is marked by an alcohol burn and finishing warmth. Raspberries do poke though at the end. Very heavy in the mouth.

Mar 10, 2008 On draft at 3 Floyds. Big raspberry flavor. Nice malt to round out tartness of the fruit. This is a bit hot. @ 18% it definitely stands out in the finish. Tasty, but a tad to warm.

Mar 3, 2008 from vintagecellars. Caramel hazy color with a fizzy white head. Slightly sour vinegar aroma, but no sourness to the taste. Sweet raspberry taste.
