Mar 22, 2008 I knew it would be interesting. Flavor is intense and highly alcoholic. Has a whiskey flavor to it that I did not enjoy. It probably would have been a lot better at around 10% alcohol instead of 18%. Hard to drink, but it tasted better as it warmed and as I got used to it.

Mar 14, 2008 from a bottle. Pours a reddish copper color. Aromas of raspberries and caramel malt. First drink reminds me of a champagne in terms of mouthfeel and taste. A lot of raspberries and alcohol in the taste.

Mar 13, 2008 Hazy yellow orange. Served in a flute. Aroma strong of raspberries and alcohol. Taste is marked by an alcohol burn and finishing warmth. Raspberries do poke though at the end. Very heavy in the mouth.

Mar 10, 2008 On draft at 3 Floyds. Big raspberry flavor. Nice malt to round out tartness of the fruit. This is a bit hot. @ 18% it definitely stands out in the finish. Tasty, but a tad to warm.

Mar 3, 2008 from vintagecellars. Caramel hazy color with a fizzy white head. Slightly sour vinegar aroma, but no sourness to the taste. Sweet raspberry taste.

Mar 3, 2008 Strong alcohol and "berry" aroma with nice ruby colored appearance. Let down by the overpowering Robitussin Cough Syrup-like flavor and thick mouthfeel.

Mar 2, 2008 November 2006 vintage, sampled at 1.5 years. Pours a cloudy, glowing red-orange color. A small, fizzy, off-white head leaves behind minimal spotty lacing. The aroma shows raspberry puree, biscuity pale malts, light caramel, and alcoholic fumes. The flavor is based on lightly toasted caramel, with syrupy raspberries dominating. The flavor is quite alcoholic, as should be expected for an 18% ABV brew. The mouthfeel is full, yet syrupy and cloying. This brew is just too alcoholic and sweet for my liking. Tastes more like a fruity cordial than a beer, in my opinion. I’d pass on buying another bottle.

Mar 1, 2008 On tap at Rich O’s, Gravity Head ’08. Reddish amber with a thin white film for a head. Unassuming! Sweet raspberry alcohol kind of like fresh alcoholic raspberries, heh. Viscous full mouth, thinned by that alcohol sort of fluidity. Sweet fresh raspberries with alcohol bite! Lingering sweetness. This is such a simple beer, but still a joy to drink. I’m glad I split a 4 oz’er of this... much more than 2 ounces, and I’ve have gotten bored!
