| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Bottle dated 11/28/05: I went into this expecting something akin to Blushing Monk and I got Robitussin instead. Pours a cloudy orange/brown with no head. Aroma consists of stale raspberries, caramel malt and alcohol. Flavor pretty much follows this outline but with an added shiver factor. Each time I took a sip of this I felt a chill run down my spine, and not in a good way. Way too much alcohol for seemingly no reason and a very bad raspberry flavor overall gives this a thumbs down. beachbum25 (802), Powellville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 15, 2007 750 ML Bottle f/2006-Light pink color w/a no head & some carbonation. Was expecting it to be much darker than this; looks like pink Champagne. Sweet Berry aroma. Flavors of sweet raspberries w/a good bit of carobination. It actually wasn’t bad, more of a Wine/Champagne flavor than a beer, but very drinkable. Alcohol was well hidden for being this high, but I felt it after one glass. I had it w/a Steak dinner & it matched up well. I wouldn’t drink this all the time & I would probibly prefer a nice glass of wine w/my dinner over this (but that’s just me), but it is an interesting change of pace. I would recomend trying it at least once. docsteigs (139), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Indeed it is the world’s strongest fruit beer, and worth trying, but not too often. Smells of string rasperries and sweetness. Cloudy pinkish brown. Tastes thick and sweet with predominant raspeberry taste. Finishes with warm alcohol notes. I was expecting a strong ale with raspberry accents; but this is mostly raspberry. MaxxDaddy (263), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2007 2005 on tap at Blind Tiger. Poured reddish with fizzy white head. Aroma sweet, somewhat medicinal raspberries. I guess the booze contributed to that medicine smell. Taste was pretty similar, overly sweet raspberries and booze. Don’t want to sound like a broken record or anything, but this is raspberry booze. That’s all I’ve got. puzzl (2648), New York, New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 9, 2007 2005 Draft at Blind Tiger for VSK night. They should not be pouring 12oz pours of this stuff. Yikes. Weak, thin, raspberry aroma. Very boozy, harsh palate, overly fizzy. I guess the alcohol isn’t too noticable, but this is still total balls. Beerman6686 (1296), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Smells like raspberrys and alcohol, taste is very much the same. Very good "drink", but not the greatest beer. ajm (950), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Updated: Mar 31, 2009This beer... I don’t know why I’ve seen this so often in a bomber when CLEARLY it doesn’t need to be larger than a 12 oz. bottle -- just like all the other freakishly strong beers Dogfish makes. This tastes like the world’s smoothest raspberry vodka. It packs roughly the same effect. Palate is soapy berries and burning. Not a lot going on except intoxicants.
