redish orange, whispy white head, sweet earthy malt aroma with a fermented fruit essence, sweet berry flavor up front that switches to cranberry tartness and followed by a decent bitterness

Very cloudy with a small white head. The raspberries are only in the background. The alcohol is strong and there is a little bit of medicinal burn in the finish. I would like a little more fruit or less alcohol. This might be a good one to age, but will the fruit flavor stay around after a few years? And of course I am known for saving good beers. porterhouse (1158), Alna, Maine, USA

Aroma quite sweet - berries, apricots? Smells alot like blueberry (or maybe raspberry) syrup. Also smells a little hot! Nice rings of lacing. Tastes sweet and hot, there’s no disguising the ABV in this one. Sugary, sticky. Nice in a small dose but would find it hard to drink too much of this Suttree (2734), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

I mean it smelled great, all raspberry and such, and it tasted OK, at first, but man, Just a a LOT of alcohol. I don’t know if this is supposed to age or what, but surely a brewery wouldn’t foist this mess on a unsuspecting public just so they can say they’ve brewed the world’s strongest fruit beer, would they? Would they? wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA

clear amber red with an off white head that wants to be pink. aroma......raspberries and rubbing alcohol. jesus you gotta get that alcohol under control! sweet funky tart raspberry flavor and oh shit......here it comes again......rubbing alcohol. medium dry alcohol finish. full thick body with lively carbonation and lots of alcohol. this beer is just a mess. horrible. this beer actually pisses me off.....i like dogfish......but jesus i dont care about you making the worlds strongest fruit beer. i want you to make the worlds best fruit beer. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA

Strong aroma of raspberry syrup, alcohol, toffee, caramel, and something weird that hints at chlorine. Strong alcohol upfront, with a big raspberry undertone, and just a bit of caramel towards the finish. Palate is medium, a bit syrupy, slightly sweet and tart, and a bit hot in the back of the throat. Unfortunately the alcohol dominates this one, very hot at first. At this point this could easily be served as a digestif. Reminds me of a good raspberry vodka. markwise (1187), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

I opened a 750 thinking that it would be lite enough for me to share, but it was so strong that no one in the house wanted to drink it with me. STRONG raspberry flavor. It is a good beer to share with friends that have a nice tolerance. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2007 From a capped 1 pint 9.6 oz. bottle, no bottling date, but a post-it note I placed on the bottle states that I purchased this in November 2005 at Sam’s in
Chicago, a short blurb along the right side of label, shared with my girlfriend and a non-reviewing RB friend in wide
bowled wine glasses.
Poured a cloudy reddish burnt orange, a few specks of sediment, small foamy off-white head that quickly dissipated into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Surprising, a flavorful nose that is light on the alcohol, I was expecting a slight alcohol burn in the nostrils, tartly sweet raspberries, juicy, spices and floral leafy hops, estery alcohol.
Good active carbonation that lends itself to a crisp, firm light-medium body, spicy solvent alcohol that warms up the palate, tart raspberries, candied sugars, very cordial-like, allspice, vanilla, citric and leafy hops that provide a soft bitterness towards the end, a dry spicy, juicy, solvent alcohol finish.
For an over-the-top, extreme ale, this has a nice, smooth sipping drinkability with plenty of flavor, I am picking up another bottle when I see this again.
