| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2007 I have had this beer twice, once very cold and the other about 50 degrees. I would say that the warmer the better. The flavor really comes out at this higher temp. The beer pours a muddy red\amber color with a nice firm head. Has a nice fruit and alcohol taste that is not too over powering. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2007 Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours red/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of rasppberry, alcohol, and sugar. The flavor is fruity raspberries, sweet, with a nice alcohol punch, it seemed when the beer started to get warmer, the flavor got better and more complex, or maybe i was just starting to feel it. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Strong raspberry taste. Cross between a brandy and wine. Sweet, effervescent, with a nice warm feeling on each sip. Good stuff for as strong a ’beer’ as it is. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 10, 2007 Bottle. Quite sweet, with a noticable rasberry flavour. Mouthfeel is sweet and slightly stale, i’m pretty sure thihs is pasteurized. Tastes OK, manages to have some tart qualities along with the sweetness. Quite fizzy on the finish, with some warming alcohol notes, but it is 18%, it is very easily drinkable for its strength. kkearn (1014), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Bottle. Red-amber with a thin tan head. Strong raspberry puree aroma. Flavor is raspberry and alcohol, almost like a brandy. Warmed my entire body when it hit may palate. I’d enjoy it more if it had half the alcohol. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2007 bottle. murky orange color. thick aroma of rasberrys. taste is also dominated by raspberries. very sweet. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2007 Hazed orangey pink, thin white creamy head. Nose was full of mashed sugar coated raspberries with hints of honey and alcohol. A very faint citirc tone emrges late. Flavor is just more of the same with a concentrated sugary raspberry tone throughout. ABV is hidden well, but still bites a little in the end. Full bodied, medium carbonation, fruity, lightly bittersweet finish. Co-rated with my family in a Seven Springs condo by the roaring fireplace. Outside air temp hovering around 2. This beer is quite unique (as with most DFH’s), and certainly worth a try at least once... jefcon (1009), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2007 Bright aromas of raspberries and a slight astringency. Dark and reddish orange in the glass. Alcohol is less apparent on the taste. Plenty of fruit, with an underlying store-bought caramel adding to the sweetness. Smooth, medium weight. A dangerous brew, and a feat to get all that alcohol in there, making me feel like that was the aim, at the expense of balance, aromatics and flavors.
