Slightly tart raspberries in the aroma; sweet framboise appeal (makes me think of Lindemans...). Mouthfeel is dominated by strong, boozy raspberries, slightly medicinal, hot - like crazy, overzealous fruit. Long, sweet finish: raspberries and slightly tart. Not really my favorite DFH offering, but definitely appropriate for liquoring up someone you love. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

This is an Extreme Beer. Little Sips Only. The Alcohol Dominates the Scene.. The First Thing I Thought Wss, ’I Wonder What it Would Taste Like in 5 Years?’ Definitly Needs Some Mellowing Time. Very Syrapy Sweet, Raspberry Fruit Flavors, Plenty of Hops To Attempt to Keep This Brew in Check. I bought a case of this when it was released last year and after drinking several bottles, trading several I am coming down the remaining 3 bottles. It is time… Time for a rate!
The beer pours with a glowing ruby body and a wispy stained ivory head. The aroma is syrupy sweet; the aromatics of raspberries feel as if they are indeed real and not a generic fabrication. There is a hint of tartness that gives the beer its genuine air. The flavors finish boasts some major heat… this beer has some legs on it! The malts are abundant, sticky, and syrupy, some honey and peach nectar. Is there a mild Belgian yeast present … I pick up that Belgian doughyness? Yep, Fort is definitely a sipper… a lovely nightcap… I split the bottle with my fiancé and I might get a little… or not?

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2006 05 Bottle. Pours a dark pinkish orange, well carbonated but sans any sustaining head. Aroma is what you would expect sugary raspberry, slight alcohol wiff. Taste is what else, hot raspberry, sugar, funky metallic, some tartness. Medium bodied. I guess I was expecting something else. I feel raped for damn near $20! Maybe in 06 DFH will include some vaseline or maybe a kiss. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Quite clear and blush in color with active carbonation but a thin head. Funky caramel raspberry and vitamin c aroma. Very thick on the palate, like a liqueur. Fresh raspberry flavor dominated by alcohol which fumes up through the sinus as you sip it. Not at all bad in flavor but I think I would prefer it if it was half as strong. WeeHeavySD (3042), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2006 Updated: Feb 26, 2009750ml bottle. Purchased at Chevy Chase Wine and Liquor in Washington DC. Consumed at home in a drunken haze after way to many super brews at the Brickskeller. The brew pours amber with a nice copious head. The hose is all rasberry and smells yummy. The taste matches the nose and is a delicious rasberry concotion. larsga (3000), Oslo, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Small white head; just a thin film. Hazy orange body with carbonation. Sweetish marzipany malt aroma with light milky raspberry finish. Well balanced. Powerful sweet bitter mealy raspberry taste with metallic hoppy aftertaste. Considerable alcohol heat. A good beer.
