Clear, orange coloured with not much head. Taste is sweet, fruity, alcoholic. Sticky, slick oil crap. Complete nonsense this beer. jbrus (4882), Delft, Netherlands
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 10, 2006 Bottled, LCRBM. Ok, it’s official. I really don’t get this brewer. Again a beer that has too much of it all. Too much alcohol, too much fruits and so on. Besides that it lacks balance. What the hell is he trying to do? goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Poured a clear orange with a hint of red. Fruity aroma of dried raspberries and sweet malt. The flavor was of raspberries but without all the sweetness you would expect. Malty base give nice balance. Especially considering all the alcohol in the bottle Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2006 Golden color with a small white head. Very little lacing. Hints of sour raspberry and MAJOR alcohol in the nose. Flavor is much the same. Rather unusual for a DFH beer to be this hot with alcohol. Enjoyable in a sense, packs a serious punch. Nothing spectacular. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2006 thanks to whomever brought this to kps. A light amber pur whtih a clinging lace. A huge flavor of raspberry with just a slight hint of alcohol. A medicine lilke flavor that is part of what the flavor clash is about. A full bodied full flavored beer that should show ore alc. than it does. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Small offwhite head, fair retention with litle lace left behind. Clear amber, red hued brew. Nose of raspberry, cherry, faint chocolate and a hint of alcohol. Body is med/full, lightly oily, coating with a little puckering effect. Raspberry flavor up front, cherryish, fruity, malts are almost present, getting some hints of chocolate again. Finish is lightly sweet and tart. Hard to believe this an 18% brew. Thanks to my friends for assisting me on this one though i think i could of handled it alone. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Clear red/amber body with a fleeting white head.
This starts out with a wonderful raspberry aroma, devoid of alcohol despite it’s purported 18% alcohol.
Some berry flavors with a bit of dryness and a touch of cough syrup.
Remarkable if it really is 18% alcohol. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Pours a cloudy slightly red copper color. Oddly enough, the beer smells like raspberries! Thankfully though, this is not Smirnoff Twist, and has more going on than merely being a melted Jolly Rancher with alcohol in it. The aroma is surprisingly bitter, and makes me think of carving pumpkins (and putting a candle in it too). Flavor is fairly similar, a little bit of malty sweetness, courtesy of being a Dogfish Head brew, with plenty of that tartness that people have mentioned. After taste is equally tart. This is by far the thickest fruit beer I’ve had, that’s for sure, but it’s just too odd for me. Actually, that was expected, as I’ve never been a big fan of fruit to begin with. Still, I think people should try this.
