Pour opaquely hazy with nice golden amber color. The smell hints at a wicked bite, but quite smooth. The alcohol is surprisingly smooth and the raspberries come through in the middle with a pleasant bitter finish. Enjoyable and worth a try. wordup (18), , New York, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Hazy copper/amber with long lasting white head. Syrupy sweet aroma. Flavor is not so sweet, and slightly bitter and not overly malty or from hops. Alcohol presence and medicinal aftertaste. On tap and Andy’s DFH Promo night. fiver29 (726), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Warning: Do not try this at home. I drank this 750 ml bottle in a hot tub. Bottled 7-9-07. First smells were alcohol. Very strong alcohol. A minute or two later it was mainly rasperries with some yeast mixed in. Pours dark amber color with off white head. Heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is some alcohol at first until I got used to it, then some raspberries, and finished with a mix of raspberries and yeast. Highly carbonated. Not a bad brew if you like rubbing alcohol until you get used to it with raspberries. Lubiere (4549), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2009 A golden amber ale with a thin white head, and speckles of raspberry seeds. In aroma, raspberry puree, menthol and cardboard. In mouth, a rather strange mentolated fruity ale, with notes of sweet corn and wheat malt, light alcohol warmth. Medium bodied. Didnt like this very much. Tasted Nov. 2008 scrizzz (1321), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Not much fruit on the nose, some granny smith apple and raspberry. Pink/caramel small head, but whatever, it’s in a tumbler. I like the flavor, plenty of fresh raspberry juice and oaky tannins, bu the white alcohol blazes through and doesn’t work well with any future delicacy. That combined with the residual sweetness makes me think more of rum and less of beer. Jblauvs (600), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Orange pour, Raspberry seeds and alcohol on the nose. Strong alcohol and some delicious green apple, cider aspects, and the slightest hint of hops. A little unballanced but pleasant. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Pours cloudy amber with small white head. Aroma is blatant raspberries with caramel, cider and the slightest citrus hop. Tart with booze making its way in as well. Flavor is very sweet with tartness making its way in near the finish. Cider, raspberry and caramel comprise the backbone. Palate is smooth, almost oily with a slight dryness due to the high abv. Alcohol is noticeable but welcome.
