Is hazy coloring, smells good. tastes somewhat like a mix drink cuz the alcohol is concealed by sweetness.

Sampled at the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo WaZoo Festival. Unruly sweet and overpowering raspberry flavor--almost syruppy. Not for me.

Pours a clumpy murky pinkish caramel color with a small fine frothy beige head. Strong alcohol, apple and raspberry aroma, some caramel a touch of vinegar (even in the fresh bottle - I took the one back that was 100% vinegar). Flavor of caramel, alcohol, light raspberry, yeasty, a bit acidic and some wood. Very malty. Thick body, heavy, syrupy, with fine sizzling carbonation. A sipper for sure... not anything like Black&Blue or Red&White. 750ml seems like an endless quantity of this stuff...

07 750ml. Pour is hazy ruby color with nice frothy head. Aromas of rasberrys. Flavor is super sweet rasberrys and sugar. Great dessert brew but good luck trying to drink a whole bottle. Your teeth might rot out of your face.

I knew this was an experiment going into it, so my mind was open. Every beer that I drank this weekend was a raspberry brew. This one though I was overwhelmed by the pure, natural raspberry aroma but the flavor was a little more difficult to nail down. Amber color with a small pinkish head, nice aroma of sourness and raspberries sweet flavor of raspberries and hints of heavy caramel but not the sweetness of a port wine. This beer has a definite bite with a harsh mouth-feel. I thought that the bottle was a little too big (750ml), a 375ml bottle would be big enough for 2 or 3 people to share for an after dinner drink.

750 poured into flute. Strong aroma of raspberry (as expected) with alcohol. Amber color with a light tan head that was gone quickly. Thick, almost oily palate with a somewhat astringent quality after swallowing. Raspberry flavor, though not so much as a lambic. Sour undertone similar to a Flemish sour ale. A very different and not an expected experience. I would agree with previous reviewer(s) who noted that the 750 is a bit much for one. This definitely feels like one to share.
