Full thick bodied. Seemed to get hoppier as it got warmer. Only a slight pilsner taste. I liked this one. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2007 12 oz Golden Era bottle. Pours a clear dark straw color with a thin, broken white head. Heavy sweet grainy aroma with Saaz underneath. Palate not as thick as I expected. Sweetness and alcohol come on initially and a moderate hop buzz comes out in the finish. The hoppiness and the obvious alcohol knock this one out of whack a bit. 37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep gold with a thin white head. Great lacing and the head stays well. Aroma is very fruity hops. Sharp hop bitterness with a lingering bitter finish. Easy drinking. CheersMate1 (805), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2007 A delicious fruity hop smell. Wow, this beer actually smells quite good. The beer has a nice golden yellow. I feel a bit scammed paying over 10$ for a 4-pack, but what can I do? Anyways, the beer has a great fruity smell to it, and did I mention the awesome hop smell? Wow, this beer looks and smells great, so far. This beer is actually pretty good. I have noticed a few other raters complaining of the excessive alcohol burn. I couldn’t agree more. This beer has a pretty dry pine taste to it. Definitely an interesting flavor. The hops are very noticeable, and the beer is quite smooth. This beer is okay, I would like for the malts to come out a bit more, but the hops are pretty powerful, and the dry alcohol flavor get in the way of the taste. Decent taste and palate. I would drink again, but for a great pils try the Victory Prima Pils. gotohelunc (476), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Bomber. Excellently smooth drinking lager with peppery spices for citrus and hops. Thick white head. A glorious double pils, although the alcohol burn is a bit more than some other 9%ers. Buy this one again. performula (147), Triangle Area, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Pours a light gold color. The head lasts forever and you can shape it with your tongue, lol. Not really a large scent or a lot of flavor. Finish is dry. The alcohol in this will sneek up on you. cbeers21 (578), Miami, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Clear gold with white, smallish head. A mysterious brew, one that has a subtle and distant quality to it. LIght piney hops feel, with a watery and dusty nature. The aftertaste reminds me of being a young child and eating snow that has leaves and dirt in it. I guess that qualifies as an "earthy" character...and that is the association I have when I drink this beer. Alcohol is not at all present on the smell or taste, and is integrated into the flavor. Perhaps the bottle I tried was unique as my experience varied significantly from others. I think I will have to re-evaluate this beer again soon. Hangover (770), Atlanta, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Clear golden pour with a frothy and lasting white head. Grassy aroma with grain/hops and a bit of alcohol. Active carbonation, full bodied. Nice mouthfeel. Lots of of pilsner flavors, just bolder. Grass, some citrus, toast. Bit resinous towards the finish. Alcohol is not as evident as the aroma. Long, bitter finish. A bit pricey but underrated I think.
