| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2007 The body was clear and golden, and the carbonation was very active, forming a two finger head in the Pilsner glass. The true to style appearance was followed by a restrained, grassy, noble hop aroma. The taste was as bold as the smell was mild. Spicy, bitter, and sulfurous hops were front and center. The malt was creamy and soft, and just a little sour, and the tingle of carbonation across the tongue during each sip enhanced all of the flavors. The aftertaste was spicy and lingered on long after each sip. Full bodied, yet a true Pilsner in all aspects of the experience. Very well crafted beer from this amazing brewery. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Standard slightly sweet lager aroma, pours a clear light amber with about half a finger of white head. The taste starts with a touch of sweetness, then a crisp bitterness, blending into a nice balance for a decent finish. Somewhat light on the palate, and a touch of alcohol noticeable in the back of the mouth. Overall, it’s tasty, but a bit overpriced. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2007 12 oz golden era bottle. Lightly hazy golden in color. Aroma is nice with some floral hops and pils malt. Taste is crisp and pretty dry, with pils malt, a nice leafy floral hop presence, a light to moderate bitterness throughout. Well done, especially for the abv. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Bottle. Golden pour with a white head. Standard pilsner aroma, with maybe more hops and alcohol. Decent, full flavor, but relatively simple. Well done, but not exciting. patty26 (95), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2007 I loved the old name, but I guess even Dogfish Head succumbs to the pressure of being PC. Beautiful golden pour with a pretty thick white head the just keeps coming at you. Very hoppy flavor and aroma. The alcohol really stands out on this one just like most Dogfish Head brews. Solid beer. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2007 Pours bright golden with a big foamy white/yellowish head. Aroma is extremely light, with just a bit of floral hops, and some fruity undertones. Flavor is almost nothing like the aroma. Big floral/grassy hops upfront, a bit of alcohol, big fruity undertones that really hit mid-palate, and a bit of white pepper in the finish. Palate is medium/full, a bit sticky, alcoholic, a bit spicy, and bitter-sweet. Maybe not quite worth the hefty price tag, but certainly one of the best lagers I’ve had in a while. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Words: compared to harrold golden revolution
dfh is cloudy compared to crystal clear of the hr,
dfh has a much stronger aroma of spicy hops and sweet malt where the hr has a softer aroma with the same sweet malt but much lighter hops,
much more robust hoppy flavor in the dfh while the hr has a more traditional sweet malt and lighter balancing hops,
