I shared this one with some co-workers. They didn’t like it. I, on the other hand thought it was pretty decent. I was quite surprised at the nearly non-existent nose mand even more surprised at how thick, sticky, and sweet this was. There is some sweet caramleish flavours but mostly fruity, like really ripe McIntosh apples. I could barely perceive any hop flavour, but certianly got the slight hit of bitter in it.

Thanks to Zathrus13 for this one,or Slob. Thanks to both of you guys. Another brew that I am finding a hard time describing. The nose wasn’t hoppy, not full of chocolate, molasses bourbon or fruity. I read some of the other ratings and it seemed like I had a cold or something because this seemed inert to me. I have another one to rate but here goes. Maybe some slight pear flavor with a touch, more like a light brushing of hops as a background. Rerate: This one was much better, had some nice fruity esters and I enjoyed much better.

750 ml bottle, thanks to slob, you rock dude! Pours a clear and vivid orangey amber with a huge, fluffy white head that diminishes slowly and leaves thick lacing. Aroma of sweet citrus syrup and toasty malts, orange sherbert, fresh spring flowers, slightly dusty herbal notes and grass. Flavor is bright and citrusy, sweet chewy malts, hoppy, hoppy, hoppy with grapefruit, pine oil , alcohol and spice - almost like triple sec liquer. Full, thick body, smooth with easy carbonation. I really liked this one and I’m somewhat surprised at the relatively low ratings. Guess I’m just a confirmed hophead and a sucker for the bold bitter and tangy flavors. With the over the top hops and malts, this one is on par with a good IIPA, but still retains some of the pilsner character. Delicious!

Pilsners just aren’t my style, bought this one for the collectibility of the label. After this batch is gone, the Feds aren’t allowing the Golden Shower name again. Anyhow...beautiful golden amber in the glass with a nice thick fluffy head that stuck around. Aroma was all hops and citrus fruits. Taste was overwhelmingly hopped. Super bitter. Citrus notes were lost to the hops. After allowing this to warm a bit, it became undrinkable. This was a drain pour for me.

Champagne bottle. Dark brown for a pilsner, but medium-amber for most any other style. Pours with a bit of white head and some lace, and plenty of malty sweetness and some fruit on the nose. Very sweet and chewy, fairly big body, decent carb, drinkable. Very satisfying and refreshing for such a sweet beer. Tasty.

From a capped 1pt. 9.6oz magnum brown bottled with a short blurb on right side of label, no bottled/freshness date. Made a good appearance, poured a slightly hazy reddish orange with a large foamy beige/whitish head that settled into a thin creamy lacing, small amount of sticking, good carbonation. Had a sweet malty, honey and solvent nose with just a hints of spiciness. A crisp, alcohol textured and smooth medium bodied mouth feel, average drinkability. Sweet malty and honey taste, a subtle spicy hoppiness that is mixed/lost in the warming alcohol presence, the alcohol has a solvent-like flavor, a burnt sugar flavor emerges towards the end and a sweet malty, honey and solvent finish. Interesting, but in the end, not that tasty of a double pilsener, I like the odd ball brews from Dogfish Head, but I was kind of disappointed with this.

Poured light copper in color with lasting off white head. Aroma is light. A bit of malt, a bit of sugar sweetness and maybe yeast. Taste: thick, chewy, malty with long lingering malt or wheat flavor. The hop flavor I’m tasting and the slight hop bitterness take a backseat to the lightly roasted caramel malt flavor. I’ve had two imperial pilsners (Rogue’s version). For my taste this one is better. I really like the solid fresh malt backbone to the flavor without being too sweet.
