Drew (2375), Kent, Ohio, USA Sep 18, 2007 Deep golden and clear, generously thick head and great lacing. Aroma is grassy, some citrus. Medium body, sweet malts, some grassy/peppery hop towards the end and the finish was sticky with lingering sweetness. Glad they altered the name since the last time I tried it (as Golden Shower)
Swolf3 (20), Elkton, Maryland, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle from GMCC2181. Golden color when poured with thick head, Taste is malty with a hop taste afterwards. A good everyday brew. GMCC2181 (358), Bear, Delaware, USA Aug 27, 2008 Updated: Aug 28, 2008750ML Bottle from Ibrew2or3. (2006) Orange/yellow in color. Malty aroma. Taste very sweet. Malt backbone mild amount of hops. For a lager it was very easy to drink. Mild amount of carbonation. Overall another solid beer by DFH! DuffMan (1935), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 24, 2008 Pours a deep orange-golden. Perfumey floral aroma, sweet malt. Very malty foundation, sweet, generously hopped to deliver complex floral aromatics. Finish is long and bitter. Delicious! scrizzz (488), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 24, 2008 750 ml. bottled on 0306. Syrupy concentrated aroma. Oranged hue, lasting head, good lacing. Probably much more hop presence 2 years ago, more barley wine character with leafy hops providing depth. Thicker and heavier than any pilsner I’ve had. stefanje (544), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Aug 15, 2008 12 oz bottle from Secret Santa (sprinkle). Pours a 18k gold color with a big white head that has good retention. The aroma is moderate in strength with dry biscuit, corn and hops. The flavor was complex with malts, musty fruit, spices and hops. The mouthfeel is full and smooth with lively carbonation. The finish is long with lingering sweet corn. Overall: A very fine beer, but the alcohol makes itself known, this is too strong for me to drink every day.
