There can be only one...Immort-ale. Maple and vanilla are the lead smells and flavors. Sweet like syrup. Powerful. Very low bitterness. Grab one and don’t lose your head.

Amber to the max, red rubies luminescent glow, white small head. Sweet, alcohol-fwd nose. Smooth, pleasantly low carbonation--nice mouthfeel. Smokey flavors come out real well. Quite lovely.

bottle..pours reddish brown with minimal head...aroma of smoke, oak, vanilla, alcohol, and sugar..flavor is overly smokey, with hints of vanilla bean, bourbon, caramel, and booze...very boozy overall, and this takes away from some of the complexity

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Umm. Fresh smelling beer! The aroma is very subtle but I found oak and vanilla beans. It smells creamy, if that makes any sense. It pours a murky mahogany color with a fine head that makes me think of nitro beers. The taste is exceptionally well balanced with oak, vanilla and scotch. Yum Yum!

Poured a dark red/brownish color with an off white head. Aroma was extremely complex, of Bourbon, dark fruits, vanilla, cloves, and some spicey hops. Flavor was not nearly as complex. the bourbon comes through strong and the taste is very boozy, does not hide the alcohol well at all and is hard to look past.

12 oz bottle. Complex aroma of vanilla and dark fruits with belgian yeast spiceyness. Clear orange coopper with small white head. Spicey yeast notes with alchohol warming, rich carmel malt sweetness with spicey vanilla and dark fruits. Full body with a moderately dry spicey bitter finish where the wood aging comes out. Very tasty

Poured this nice beer from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. It had a cloudy, dark-amber color, with a thin, fizzy off-white head that had mild retention. The aroma was true to the advertising; it featured pine and maple hops, with some vanilla and oak tones, a touch of citrus, and maybe some caramel. A nice bitter-sweet melody of taste with some light tones of vanilla, and a slight toasty quality. It was slightly wet on the palate, with a drier finish. The presence of alcohol was well masked and the carbonation was low. A good beer, and a potent ABV to boast.

Almost unnoticeable smoky aroma. Opaque brown appearance similar to doppel bock, with a compact head that lasts. The flavor of this ale is unbelievable! I literally felt obligated to pause a movie (that I was quite enjoying) to review this beer because of the flavor! This is one complex creation! The first asset that registers is sweetness without overpowering maltiness, probably because of the maple syrup. The initial sweetness gives way to a slightly sour trait. Caramel, vanilla, and mild hop spice warm and caress the taste buds throughout. The mouth feel is also outstanding, consisting of a creaminess usually found only in milk stouts. The mixture of English and Belgian ale yeasts confuses and simultaneously titillates the palate. The overall taste is very similar in profile to a Belgian brew, but without the significant fruitiness that usually typifies a Belgian product. Despite an ABV of 11%, the alcohol is essentially unidentifiable in the mix (until you have finished your glass!). Dogfish has outdone themselves with this beer! An underachieving aroma is the only thing standing between this brew and a perfect rating!!
