bottle. pours a mostly clear reddish amber, with a medium cream-tan head. nose is brown sugar malt, with lots of wood, some vanilla, and a bit of hops, with a smoky note throughout. taste is quite smoky, with a lot of wood, some more brown sugar, cotton candy, and dark fruits. quite sweet, with a creamy and sticky mouthfeel. quite bubbly. i liked it. very smoky and woody. reminds me of roasting marshmallows around a campfire.

Pours a very nice dark amber, moderate head. While it’s a solid tasting beer, I felt that the vanilla flavor was too overwhelming. It was also a little too sweet for my taste. The alcohol definitely comes through too, unsurprisingly. It was tasty and worth a try, but I won’t pick it up again.

Bottle. Pours a mahogany brown with a ¼ inch white head quickly diminishing to nothingness. Aroma is smoke, oak, etoh, peat, and a maple sweet. Taste is hardly bold for 11% the oak is subdued well and notes of the vanilla, a light sweet flavor of maple. A noticeable character of Belgian yeast. THIS IS FANTASTIC!!

Poured a dark copper color from a 12-oz bottle. Woody aroma with vanilla, caramel and alcohol. Taste of sugary candy sweetness with a strong alcohol presense.

Bottle. A great example of a Barley Wine sipper. Taste is rich and complex some notes of yeast, maple, and bourbon. A bit alcoholic but it makes you take your time to really enjoy each sip.

Pours amber brown with no head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, hops, maple. Taste is very sweet, with raisin, maple, oak, vanilla, alcohol, hops, spice. Mouth is pretty viscous. Finish is bitter. Overall, a great unique barleywine.

Bottle. This beer pushes sweetness about as far as I can handle it, but the complexity makes it quite enjoyable. So much going on! Medium-dark brown pour with beige head. Nose is cotton candy, burnt sugar, malt, peat, slight fruit, a little wood a little vanilla. On the palate, these flavors open up as well as marshmallow, maple, more vanilla, more peat, slight smoke. Only real draw back is that the warming alcohol comes close to a burn a the end. This is a very good beer and a unique barley wine, but the alcohol and price make it a very occasional sipper.

Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of vanilla, dark fruits, and smoke. Flavor has some complexity, starting off sweet with a combination of vanilla and fruit, with smoke coming through in the middle, descending into an alcohol finish with some bitterness. There’s a lot going on with this beer.
