Pours a cleary burgundy color with an inch head into the snifter. The scent was of vanilla, oak, malt and alcohol. There are notes of carmel, vanilla, oak and some smokey malt. There is a smoked, woody taste that finishes the palate. Not a bad barley wine, but a strange aftertaste, very warming.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, maple syrup, wet leather and a hint of wood. Pours rich amber with a thin creamy white head. Big, rich and boozy on the palate. Dry malt, caramel, vanilla, alcohol, oak and a hint of tobacco. Full bodied, rich, chewy and mouth coating.

12 oz. bottle Aroma:Smokey, sweet, burnt something...strange but not unpleasant Appearance:Clear dark red amber with a quickly disippating head. Flavor:Sour wine with malts and hops and alcohol and blending together to make something truly strange that I will admit I did not like all that much. Palate:That strange taste cloyingly sticking to the roof of my mouth Overall: I appear to be in the minority on this one but I must say I did not really like this beer. I appreciate its complexity because it was certainly that but it did just not go well with my palate. I figure this is like how perfumes and colognes are meant to intermingle with your body’s natural oils to create the overall scent. For some people this might work well but with my it kinda stank.

Pours dark amber with minimal head. Very sweet aroma. Flavor is quite complex with some dark malt, oak, and dark fruit. Very nice brew.

Poured out of a bottle like thick vinegary syrup. Miniscule off-white head. Nose of brown sugar and maple syrup. Rich full-bodied flavor. A little werid and overly complex but nice.

12 oz bottle from west lakeview liqours in Chicago. Dark ruby red with large beige head. Aroma is very earthy, with some sweet fruit, lots of dough. Flavor is smokey , red fruit, dough, alc, molasses, sherry-like. Medium body that is pretty creamy. Almost rausch-like in flavor, very enjoyable.

350 ml bottle mailorder from archer liquors. Hazy copper brown with no head. Pungent earthy aroma of tobacco and leather. Very pleasant vanilla, oaky, and smokey taste with a nice smooth finish. Excellent.
