A red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of malt, alcohol, caramel, and hints of hops. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and the alcohol biting the tongue. A quite nice beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a cloudy, warm, amber golden with a yellowish head. Sweetish aroma of caramel and fruit. Soft mouthfeel, full-bodied with sweetish caramel and then some odd but fairly distinct smoked notes - as in a Scotch whisky. A bit flat and sticky perhaps. Ends with basically no bitterness. Definitely a different Barley Wine. 090407

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with no head. Smoked aroma, slight malty and rubber. Thick mouthfeel. Clearly fullbodied. Sweet raisin malty, syrup and oak hints. I don’t sense the vanilla, but the beer has a certain flavour smoothness. Good bitterness in the finish.

Deep red, vinuos, hoppy and enormously complex with notes of vanilla and maple syrup. One of my all time favourites!!

Bottled. Dark amber colour, not much head. Aroma is leather, malts, hops and syrup. Flavour is leather, malts, a bit caramel. Also strong roasted and smoked notes. Hides it’s alcohol quite well.

Clear light brown colour. Not much head. The aroma is smoky, peaty, with a lot of alcohol, a hint of juniper, dried leaf, a hint of bubblegum phenol, brown sugar, and rich caramelly malt. Lots of aromatic depth to this one. Fairly light body for the style, and goes down relatively easy. Light smokiness and easy caramel maltiness. Some earthy notes.
