The dense malt aroma is fighting to escape the hops, seems balanced in the nose. If i homebrewed and made a brown, i’m sure I’d throw a shitton of hops in, just to do it. but sam beat me to the punch. Caramely brown, medium bodied and not intense, strong leafy hop finish. Not a typical brown by any means, but unique and assertive. Coffee roast, leafy hop finish. Just how I likes it. broozer81 (67), , New Jersey, USA

This was the first time I experienced a beer that rolled along my tongue with multiple flavours of malts and it will always hold a special place in my heart for beers. Very nice. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Poured a huge tan rocky head into a semi dimpled mug. Smell of molasses and malts and brown sugar. Flavour has a nice balance of Sweet and Bitter fresh Happiness- oops I mean Hoppiness. I had already had a few draughts at the Draught House Brewery in Austin so my Palate may have been dulled, but I did not detect a very strong alcohol flavour. The head did dissipate quickly. The bitter flavour though persisted pretty much till the bottom of the glass. I liked the over all effect of this beer. I would try it again. Enjoy! l1br4r14n (297), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Malt and hops! The commercial description is spot on. It’s like they took two different beers, a scotch ale and IPA, and mixed them together. Very interesting, but they don’t work together real well, rather the flavors are very separate. Strange.
