| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2009 Pours clear dark brown, with a medium tan head, very good lacing. Smells of chocolate, chicory, and plum. Medium body, velvety and smooth. Tastes of chocolate, chicory, and light molasses, pine and grass in the medium-bitter aftertaste. Tastes more like a porter than a mild brown ale. UriahHeep (105), Georgia, USA

Loved the syrupy, molasses-like texture with prominent brown sugar sweetness and powerful malt aroma. Well balanced hop addition, full-bodied and well-rounded beer. I even got my girlfriend to enjoy this craft brew. Sessionable at 7.2% and 50 IBU. Foxbush (468), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2009 This is probably the best brown ale I have had. It has a wonderful mouhtful of flavor. The roasted barley and sugars create a very dleicious ale. You did not want the beer to end. This is good one. The ale poured a deep reddish brown. The head was small and disappeared. I am getting a 6 pack of this. A fun experience. This is why you taste different beers. You have some discoveries that keep you coming back for more. Ja29ck (25), Salisbury, Maryland, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2009 Medium brown with a nice looking head. Very roasted nose and opens like a brown ale, or maybe even a porter, mid palate is definitely weak, and finish has a bitterness that I did not care for all that much. The first time I had this beer I was not that impressed, but last night it was a better experience.. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2009 Pours dark brown with beige head. Hoppy aroma with hints of coffee, roasted malts, alcohol. Roasted malt and coffee/caramel taste with a nice dry hop finish. Very smooth, stays with you. Another solid Dogfish Head beer. Maybe the only reason to visit Deleware. kazooka (41), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Chocolate, strong coffee, burnt caramel, toffee aromas. Reddish-dark-brown, brief minimal tan-white head. Medium sweet, heavy bitterness. Heavy bodied, soft carbonation, finishing long bitter mocha. A decent beer. Probably would enjoy it in cooler weather.
