Unlike a few of their other fine brews, this one comes in a six pack, instead of a four. Nice pleasent aroma, good appearing color, nice pleasent taste, good on the palate. I have to rate this one just a little below Dogfishs 120 and stout. NomDeBeer (400), Maryland, USA

Flavor is sweet coffee, roasted malts, caramel, and perhaps a touch of peat. Nice hoppiness to go with it. Attractive dark brown color. Very drinkable. jujubeast6000 (784), Houston, Texas, USA

Thin head, nice dark color, some lacing, complex aroma, good mouthfeel, complex varied flavors, good hop finish, although I wonder if it wasn’t a little too much for the style. However this is an excellent brew. TOSG55 (75), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep brown, with thin head. Aroma is of sweet dark malts, reminiscent of a porter. Flavor starts out with strong, citrusy west-coast hops, soon followed by coffee malts (the provided description of being a cross between a Scotch Ale, IPA, and APA is quite accurate). Not my cup of tea (beer?) at all; while the component flavors are all nice, they do not blend together well, and the overall effect is somewhat revulsive. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2008 8/04/2008: Indian Brown Ale has clear brown color with smooth carbonation and a creamy whipped tan-colored head (good lacing). Wow, the aroma is very inviting and includes lots of richly caramelized malt, dreamy dark chocolate, molasses fruitiness, and a tinge of tobacco/cigar. The flavor is somewhat dry with some lightly citrusy bitterness in the finish. Roasted malts, plain coffee, cocoa power, some sort of fruitiness (more molasses like, I guess), distant nutty quality, hints of ash (toward the backside when colder) comprise the overall flavor characteristics. Some alcohol shows around the edges toward the finish, but it works really well with the overall flavor. The body of htis beer medium to medium-full beer and it is really smooth on palate. Overall this is a pretty complex, unique, and very pleasing brown ale.
12 fl. oz. bottle (7.2% Alc. by Vol.) from tish. Thanks for all the beer! I appreciate it. Rating #1194 for this beer...

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Updated: Aug 20, 2008(Bottle). Caramel and coffee aroma. Very dark brown color with tan head. Flavor is caramelly malt and toffee, hints of chocolate and coffee. Well balanced, with a nice clean finish. Delicious, but (as others have noted) it’s not a typical brown ale...instead, a rather strange hybrid. texasbartender (160), Sugarland, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Beer poured a nice brown amber with a thin off white head. The nose was a mix of toasted malts and brown sugar. The flavor was full of toasted malts and sweetness with a slightly heady taste of alcohol. A very good brown ale.
