The aroma is a mix of hops and rich dark malts, caramel and bakers chocolate. The flavor largely profiles the scotch ale. It is rich and creamy like condensed milk with notes of dark chocolate and butterscotch. The bitter hops are subtle but round out the finish and offer a nice complexity. mspindler (321), Alta Loma, California, USA

Arroma is initially roasty BBQ, then some toasted nuts, burnt caramel, and dark dried fruits. Flavor has a bunch of raisins, some coffee and molasses. Full bodied but not overly, with generous carbonation. arkurzynski (99), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Pours deep brown/dark amber with nice brown/tan head. Aroma comprised of roasted malt and brown sugar; not as hoppy of an aroma as I was expecting, but present. Great roast taste, but overpowers the hoppiness a little. Nonetheless, very good. A strong showing. yobdoog (1460), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Updated: Sep 22, 2009What a beer first of all. A perfectly mixed combination of English styles, the IPA and the Brown Ale makes this IBA one to behold and savor. As part of my IBA tasting session, this one stood out amongst the rest to register as the best. An awesome hoppy and strong malt aroma mixed with a dark, mud-like pour adds up to an explosion of aged malts and strong, yet soft biting hops. Make no mistake, this Indian Brown Ale is one to seek out! JackfromJax (17), Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Pours medium dark brown with a quickly discipating head. Significant bitterness is in balance with the massive caramel, toasty flavors with a hint of roastiness. The finish hops could be a little more ascertive. Definitely leans more toward a Scottish malt profile that toward a Brown. Great Beer! Hopper (318), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 A dark brown beer with little head. Aroma was sweet, & nutty. The taste was sweet, smooth, & roasted malt. A nice brown with more hops than usual. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Odd combination of flavors. Is it a brown or is it an IPA. I guess I am a more traditionalist in this aspect. Notes of coffee and molasses mixed with an infusion of hops that gives it an overly alcoholic vibe. Beautiful large frothy head that is rather lasting
