Surprisely, had at the Melting Pot in Red Bank. Poorly poured into a pilsner by the bartender, why I’m not sure. Nice dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma of nuts, caramel, brown sugar and a hint of coffee. Taste was excellent. Nutty and rich with bit of sugar in the beginning along with those notes of coffee. Nice hops toward the end. Really enjoyed this beer. Will have it again.

Bottled 09/12/07; 12 oz bottle from mcbackus; Nose is roasty and nutty with caramel and coffee notes; clear dark brown with a medium straw head; flavor has some coffee, toffee, smoke, and caramelized sugar, but I can taste a lot of hops; only a smidgeon of bitterness in the finish!

Pours, well, brown with a few fingers of frothy tan head. Aroma of hazelnut, and oats. Interesting taste, strong molasses and chocolate tastes combine with the nuts. Malts and Hops clash- it ends up tasting like a mix between a pale ale and a porter. Very interesting.

Thick billowy foam on top of a deeply colored brown ale. Lacing is lovely. Nose is all chicory and freshly cut timber but also rich black earth. Metallic flavors. Finishes thin and is not as complex as it could be. However, I could drink this often, as it is in a really good zone in between sipping and session.

"A cross between a Scotch Ale, an IPA, and an American Pale"??? Hmmm.... more like a stout and an IPA. Pours and keeps a nice beige head. Good roasty barley taste throughout, with strong hints of chocolate and lighter hints of coffee. A nice dark brown... good balance of hops and malt. Pretty thick palate. Slight alcohol burn. Not too far from a stout.

Is that a picture of coffee beans on the label? Nose-clearing aroma of hops and alcohol. Flavor is full and well-hopped, with coffee, malt, and noticable alcohol in there too. The flavors clash a little, and It is not as good as I had hoped, but it does get points for originality. An odd alliance between a brown ale and an IPA.

Every Dogfish head beer Ive had just keeps getting better and better. This beer is amazing dark color with a nice head. The beer has a good roast flavor to it, one of my favorite Dogfish Head!

Poures a dark amber. Frothy tan head and tastes of roast, coffee and chocolate. The hops are present in this beer, it was a little bit dry though. Overall pretty good.
