A perfectly mixed combination of English styles, the IPA and the Brown Ale makes this IBA one to behold and savor. As part of my IBA tasting session, this one stood out amongst the rest to register as the best. An awesome hoppy and strong malt aroma mixed with a dark, mud-like pour adds up to an explosion of aged malts and strong, yet soft biting hops. Make no mistake, this Indian Brown Ale is one to seek out! JackfromJax (23), Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Pours medium dark brown with a quickly discipating head. Significant bitterness is in balance with the massive caramel, toasty flavors with a hint of roastiness. The finish hops could be a little more ascertive. Definitely leans more toward a Scottish malt profile that toward a Brown. Great Beer! Hopper (330), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 A dark brown beer with little head. Aroma was sweet, & nutty. The taste was sweet, smooth, & roasted malt. A nice brown with more hops than usual. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Odd combination of flavors. Is it a brown or is it an IPA. I guess I am a more traditionalist in this aspect. Notes of coffee and molasses mixed with an infusion of hops that gives it an overly alcoholic vibe. Beautiful large frothy head that is rather lasting GranvilleTim (519), Granville, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Dark ruby-brown pour with light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt, roasted nuts, caramel. Taste is great-creamy, roasted malt, nutty, sweet caramel. Finishes with a nice roasted flavor. Hops is well balanced with the other flavors. One of the best brown ales I have ever had if not the best. Nice lacing on the glass. Fratto (751), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 14, 2009 Poured darker than I had expected, smells of chocolate and nuts. Not as much hops as I would have thought. Frovigalning (464), , Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 It poured a very dark brown (close to black) liquid with small light brown foam that left little to no lacing. It had a scent of sweet chocolate and lots of it, also some soy sauce. It also had a strong taste of chocolate, smooth and very nice. But it didn’t feel very complex and I would have loved some more different tastes in the beer.
