| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Brown sugar reigns in the taste with a hint of hops to remind you that it is a beer. When craving an Indian brown ale, this one is a above average choice beerbrat99 (119), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown and almost porter like in color. No head and no lacing. Aroma of raisins, toffee, chocolate and mild coffee. The taste is similar with malt dominating the flavor. I sense very little hops in this beer. I think the low carbonation of this beer poses a problem for the overall taste experience. A beer that I was expecting much more from. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Aroma: brown sugar & malt w/ a bit of anise and chocolate with a tinge raisiny wood and alcohol. Needs more hops in the aroma. Taste shows more bitterness mixed w/ darker malt bringing me back to Stone 11th Anniversary, although the similarities end there. Mouthfeel is smooth but slightly too thin. Seems pretty good when spliced up, but as a whole it fails to satiate me. hillfiiiiire (285), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 It pours a dark brown color with a small creamy head. The aroma’s a bit dull with some dark malts and not much hops. The taste is coffee and chocolates, but I’m not really finding much of a hops presence which is disappointing. It’s not very bitter, but that’s not particularly good here, as the hops don’t seem to balance the malts. It is pleasantly smooth though. crowderm (282), Recklinghausen, Germany
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 The aroma leaves a bit to be desired with notes of stale hops and dark malt. The beer looks decent with a dark brown color and almost non-existent head. The taste is burnt molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, with a noticeable, but not too prounouced gingery hop character. Pretty smooth as well. Decent overall.
