Bottle from local store. Pours nicely with a good size brownish frothy head. Not a typical Brown Ale, much better. Strong hint of coffee aroma but very smooth. Highly recommend.

12 oz bottle pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is dominated by hops with a little malt presence. Flavor is caramel, a little chocolate and hop bitterness. I think this is my favorite Brown ale ever.

pours dark brown with a hint of ruby, thick tan head that leaves some nice lacing. smells of chocolate, brown sugar, and dark fruit. taste is mostly chocolate with noticeable alcohol. nice balanced finish with more chocolate, raisins, and a flourish of hops.

Poured brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and nuts. Sweet malt flavor to start with some chocolate. Finished with a slight alcohol burn. Not bad.

Brown sugar reigns in the taste with a hint of hops to remind you that it is a beer. When craving an Indian brown ale, this one is a above average choice

Bottle. Pours a dark brown and almost porter like in color. No head and no lacing. Aroma of raisins, toffee, chocolate and mild coffee. The taste is similar with malt dominating the flavor. I sense very little hops in this beer. I think the low carbonation of this beer poses a problem for the overall taste experience. A beer that I was expecting much more from.

Aroma: brown sugar & malt w/ a bit of anise and chocolate with a tinge raisiny wood and alcohol. Needs more hops in the aroma. Taste shows more bitterness mixed w/ darker malt bringing me back to Stone 11th Anniversary, although the similarities end there. Mouthfeel is smooth but slightly too thin. Seems pretty good when spliced up, but as a whole it fails to satiate me.
