Big fluffy head. *Looks* like a Big Beer. The aroma is heavy raisin and dark grape. Some roasted mocha and coffee. Dark and rich. Hint of dark sweetness. Dark cherries and oak. The taste is bitter, bitter dark marlt. A bit sugary but also slightly sour. Grape, dates, raisins. A MAJOR burn on the way down, like rum. Burnt cookies. The feel is creamy and milky. Smooth and buttery; no grit. This beer is seriously bitter and hefty. A slow sipper and a beast, but a delicious beast. Jblauvs (597), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Nearly black pour with a frothy tan head. Nose of rich molasses, chocolate, vanilla, and citrus spice. Bitter from roast and hops is this beer. Medium body, creamy texture and a bitter hop finish. All the flavors actually go very well together accenting the natural tastes of each ingredient. pumpmaster (480), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA

Thick, maybe a little syrup, on the tongue. You can feel the alcohol, but it does not overpower. One was enough for me, but I look forward to matching this with food. nate4g63 (3), Oil City, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Right now my favorite beer.
